Girls Talk: Christmas Tradition
Wednesday, December 30, 2009
This week on Girls Talk meme theme is Christmas Tradition.
I missed last week theme and so now I was trying to post my entry for this week's theme. So, here's my story.
When I was in the Philippines, my family used to celebrate Christmas on December 24, we called it Buena Noche or Christmas Eve. I think it is part of a Catholic tradition as well. Although, we are not catholic because I have some friends here in US who celebrated the Christmas eve on December 24th.
Last week, we had a good time. My sister came over for a vacation to celebrate the holiday with us. It was memorable since this is actually the first time I celebrated with my sister since we came here in US. It was the happiest memory for us. We had celebrated the Christmas Eve while opening gifts. We also played games while waiting for the 12 am time. We don't have exchange gifts there, maybe because of our financial situation which I guess it is also a big deal.
Then, on my husband's Christmas tradition where I also adapted since I came here in US. They always celebrated Christmas on Christmas day. They opened gifts instead every morning of Christmas day. I thought during Christmas, my husband's family always have gifts for each other...
