Welcome to my week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

According to An Island Life, In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the rest of the weekend, by asking a simple question for everyone to answer.

My question is:

Do you ever save cards and letters or throw them away? If you can, show us one that you saved.

My answer is: Yes. I still have few cards and letters that I received from my husband way back year of 2004. The year we've met and settled down.

We all know USA is not a perfect place to be. We are all fortunate enough to be here, have a chance to start out lives, find a job, and raise our children in a good situation than in our home country, Philippines. But, sometimes, being here in US made people change a lot, not only with their situation but also their attitude, the way they treat others, and even thought of being on top. They thought they are good enough and better than others.

Think of what you have right now is from of what you are before and that will never change of what you are as well. Everything is just a chance and opportunity that we need to take good care of, rather than being boastful, jealous of others, and even inconsiderate. Some people came here in US, and in a snap, they just thought they were superior to others.

That's why I thought, is it the English Language? The Snow? Or What? or maybe basig nakuratan lang...

We are on the road trip two weeks ago and I just can't help not to take a snap shot of the scenic view I saw when we were on our way to Connecticut. We are on Pennsylvania mountains, and indeed it was beautiful!

Since we moved into our new home, we never continued using the cable TV service we had before because of their price changes especially on their bundle packages. Since then, we never know when we are going to get it again or just switch to Direct TV. I have heard about good prices of some Satellite TV providers, but I am not sure yet if we can able to save money on them, but all I wanted now was to watch my favorite shows again while saving money. Hubby has a thought of Directv too and we have known some friends who had Direct TV where you can able to get best deals on Direct TV.

School Starts Soon

It’s been two weeks more to go before our school starts soon. I am quite so excited and yet nervous because this time, all of the courses I am going to take is college based and they were absolutely hard and need time to focus on. Once my hubby told me that I can’t blog anymore because I need to focus and study more. I am getting worried because I will truly missed blogging too. Well, I guess, I have to put aside blogging for a while and maybe after the school, I will get back and start blogging again. Well, I still have not getting enough with my vacation, off from schooling you know but I have to just go with the flow, I guess, just to get along with everything or else I’ll be sorry.
Anyway, I hope this semester will not be so hard for me, so I can able to blog once in a while or maybe once a week or so. I really love blogging and I am going to miss it so much. When the school starts soon, I don’t if I can able to do so. Well, let's see..

To Tip or Not to Tip?

I have missed my episodes on Aloha Friday, but good thing I am back.
And this week's question is:

When you go to places like Starbucks or Jamba Juice, do you leave money in the tip jar?

~Well, if I paid cash, I do leave some tip on a jar. But it always depend on how the employee do her or his job and how he treats his customers. But sometimes, I just don't tip at all, if I paid using a card, neither do I add tip on the receipt.

Cleaning Chores

1. How often do you clean your home?

Well, I clean every 2 weeks the area where we usually used such as kitchen and bathrooms. Then, I cleaned the bedroom and living every after 3 weeks. I vacuum the carpet like every week though.

2. What domestic chore do you hate?

I hate cleaning the kitchen and bath room floors because they never ever be clean at all. Maybe, I am just too tired to clean them over and over again.

3. What domestic chore do you enjoy?

I like doing laundry and fold the clothes. I also love ironing clothes and even putting them in hangers. I also love putting plates in a dishwasher and clean the pans. I just love it than cleaning the floors.

4. Do you own a washing machine or go to the laundrette?

Yes, we have a washing machine.

5. Do you iron underpants and/or bed sheets?

No, not at all.

A Visual Talking contest ... $1,500 total ... we want you to win!!

The main purpose of this convo is build up the inventory of standard sentences - these are sentences that we use often - think of those texting abbreviations like OMG, LOL, CMON, WU?, GAL.

Routines, Listen and Sleep

1. What is your morning routine? ~ I woke up and I go to my son's room to see if he's awake, then prepare his food and my food for breakfast. Then, he will watch TV and I will go online to do blogging. Except on weekends, since usually we just spend time together if his dada is not working.

2. What is your nightly routine? ~ After we ate dinner and watched movie together, I will prepare my son for bed first and then, I will take a shower, brush my teeth, and went to bed.

3. Do you like to listen to the radio when you sleep or have it quiet? ~On radio, probably make it quiet, but to be specific, sometimes I played music on the radio with my own CD's and go to sleep. I like it when I could not hear of something other than the radio playing.

4. What do you like to sleep in? ~ On my right side because I had stuffy nose when I sleep on my left side which is weird. So, mostly I slept on my right side or with my back.

5. What is the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning? ~My son if he is awake and if there is more opportunities for today!

Best Food Mart

When we were on the way to New Jersey, we stopped by at the Phil-Am Food Merchandise that I always used to order online for some Philippine food products. Finally, I had a chance to visit their store and bought some food on our way home. Also, we had a chance to try their food at their little take out food service where you can buy a wide variety of Filipino delicacies. I will truly love that place because you can eventually eat a lot of Pinoy food there. I had a calderetang kambing and rice and hubby had a rice noodles which is a pancit bihon since he loves it too. I also bought a cassava cake and kutsinta for dessert. Also, I bought some groceries too! I wish I live at New Jersey.

I took some photos of the store, it was a nice town though where this store located, it seem like all the Filipino were having fun at this town too because of all the availability of Philippine products and service.

Came Home from Vacation

Finally, last Sunday morning we arrived from our one week vacation at Connecticut. It was a long drive for us and so glad finally it is over. I hate driving in a long trip especially if you have a toddler in the car because they got so bored and tired right away, so we have to stop and take a stretch for a while before we can continue driving. Then, at the end of the night, we need to stop by and stay for a night at the nearby hotel just to sleep. Good thing for those 8 hours we were driving, my son was just having fun watching his favorite shows on a portable DVD player. Since then, we don’t have much problem with him, unless he got bored and tired with sitting.

Anyway, it was a nice vacation for all of us; I have met my friend that I really miss so much. She and her husband were very nice to us as well. We went to a lot of places such as museums, park and zoo, beach, and we did a lot of barbecuing which is fun. My son was having fun as well visiting zoo, and places for kids. He loves his pool there too!

Well, bad thing because one week is not enough for us to enjoy and we need to go back home because hubby needs to go back to work by Monday. I already miss being with them, and now I am just here at home watching TV or do blogging, I hope we can have more time. Well, hopefully, we can able to see them again soon.
