Memory and Desire

It's finally Friday and I am so excited for this coming weekend! I don't know, but I feel that we need to go somewhere! So weird!

Anyway, it's time for the Friday five, a weekly meme that happens every last day of the week. This week's questions are:

1. What is your happiest memory?
~I think when I finally got my visa about five years ago which means that I can able to come back with my husband and be here in US for life. We had been separated for almost a year because of my visa process.

2. What is the most important life lesson you've learned?
~Well, I guess it was a lesson when not or when to tell someone a secret, basically, hearsay is bad.

3. What is the most difficult decision you've had to make?
~It was when I had to live my family and friends way back in the Philippines, just to be with my husband here in US. It is so hard because I was there for my 23 years of life and now I feel like I have to start all over again which I did, five years ago and until now.

4. What is the best thing about your life?
~I think when I found my husband and when I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.

5. What is the biggest challenging you're facing right now?
~My schooling. Being in a foreign school is quite challenging and different. So, I am now still learning from these changes and trying to deal with it. Speaking all the time with an English language is not what I used to be, so it's kind a challenging for me. Good thing, I have a husband who speaks English which sometimes I have to deal with everyday and even more with schooling.

We know that we do everything online these days, even sending messages to our family and friends. So, I am curious to know if there is still somebody out there who still receives hand-written mails. So my question is:

When was the last time you received a hand-written letter in the mail? Who sent it?

My answer:

As far as I could remember, I received a hand-written letters in the mail from a church friend way back in the Philippines about three years ago. Then, after that I received some from couple of friends about two years ago and until then, we all started communicating through emails. Then, a few months ago, I sent my parents a letter too which is still useful, especially when they are not using computers and Internet.

~No. My mom lives in a different country. She was like a thousand miles away from me. the last time, I saw her was about a few months ago when we chat with a webcam. Yes, I talked to her every other weekend of the month.

2. How about dad? Talked to him lately? How’s your relationship with him?

~I talked to my dad whenever I called them over the phone. My relationship with my dad is great. I'm close to my parents and I shared anything to them.

3. Are there any other family members that you are close with? If so, who and why? If not, is there at least someone in your life that you can rely on?

~Yes, my eldest sister because she married an American guy too. Although she lives in a different state, but I still have the chance to communicate and rely on her.

~Yes, absolutely! Cool breeze came like the first week of October, I remembered because that was the first time I wear a jacket at school. I am not really into Halloween celebration so...

2. Know of anyone having a birthday this month? Who?

~Yes, my mom, she just turned 55 last October 5th. So, I sent her a gift and she just celebrated last two weeks ago with family. So sad I can't able to be with her because she lived in the Philippines. This is actually my fifth times now that I missed her birthday.

3. Is there anything you particularly like about October (or really, fall in general?) If so, what is it? If not, why not?

~Yes, foliage trees, absolutely! I love the way they were changing colors, also the fall weather sometimes because it is not kind a too much hot or cold weather, just so perfect!

Autumn Foliage of Trees

My family went to a nearby park yesterday for our son to play at the slide and swing for a while. When I was there I fell in love with the foliage trees around us, it was so beautiful that all those trees were in yellow, orange, and red colors. I have seen a lot of trees and plants from the neighborhood too where some of them turns into a red foliage which is so beautiful and stunning. So, I thought every trees and plants turns in a different ways like the maple trees and vines.

So, while playing with our son at the park, I took some photos of us and we’re having fun at the frosted leaves too!

These are one of the reason why I love Autumn season except with cold weather, though. I just love how the trees changing its colors, it's beyond compare!

A few days ago, I have been into plants lately because about a month ago, I bought two lucky bamboos to display in our living room for decoration purposes. 1. What is the most unusual ethnic food you’ve had at a restaurant recently? = Well, I would consider the frog legs, if you consider it as an ethnic food. I also had a chance to eat some chicken intestines barbecue and some chicken feet! They're taste so good, never I imagine!

2. What is the last ethnic dish you tried to make at home?= I think it was when I cook a chicken liver for dinner. Now, I am missing it again.

3. Regarding your answer to question 2, was your concoction better or worse than you’d hoped? = It was better. I never had any concoction because I have tried those menus, but it's worth it, and now I am looking forward to eat at that restaurant again.

4. What exotic dish do you most wish you could replicate in your own kitchen? = I would love to do the Filipino style barbecue sauce, but I can't do it perfectly. I don't know why, maybe because of lack of ingredients available.

~I love Filipino delicacies, some Mexican, and Chinese/Thai food like Adobo, Caldereta (beef stew), menudo, any seafood menus, and lechon paksiw. Some Mexican food such as Grilled chicken with rice, tacos, Chickren salad with their tortilla bowl. Some Chinese food such as shrimp in garlic sauce, sweet and sour chicken, their noodles menu, and pad thai recipes.
Most of the restaurants I love to go to is: Joe's Crab Shack. They always have what I wanted. Sometimes, I do love to Asian Fuzion and Chili's.

My Favorite Dress on Girls Talk

Last week, I am talking about my fave shoes, now I will be sharing my favorite dress. I have lots of favorite dresses, but I will share to you some of the dresses that are top of my list. Some of my favorites are camis and tanks, henleys with 3/4 sleeves, and capri jeans and mini skirts which always made me feel comfortable. It's my first time to join Girl Talk, a weekly meme brought by Girls Rules. I have found this meme from couple of blogs and I was curious what it is all about. I am glad I joined, though!! This is absolutely fun ways to share everything...

This week's topic is: My Favorite Shoes.

Speaking with shoes, I guess this is my weakness not to mention the purses and clothing. I guess, I am more into shoes recently due to the country I lived in, whereas all of a sudden, the weather become warmer and then cold again, so a different types of footwear is quite necessary. So it became my excuse to shop some new shoes in order to make me feel comfortable. Some of the shoes that I like and actually my favorites are my flat shoes, my boots, and my sandals.

Unfortunately, my camera has no full charged battery, so I used my cellphone to take some pictures of my favorite shoes.



For that reason, so sorry for the bad pixels...:(
