Aloha Friday: Movie Event

Last weekend, my husband and I went off to watch The Twilight Saga: New Moon. It was definitely what I expected. As I read the book a few months ago, I would say, it was perfectly the picture, although not all of the scene in the book is not in the movie but the relevance of the book is what they nailed of which is amazing! I love the movie effects and even the lines from the movie.

So, my question for this week on Aloha Friday is:

Are you planning on seeing this teenage vampire love story? If so: Team Edward or Team Jacob?


My answer is Team Edward! I always been. Since the first movie Twilight and no matter what, it's always been Team Edward, don't make me choose because it's always been Team Edward. I remember that on one of Bella's line in the movie New Moon.

The movie is awesome, I could not ask for more. I can't wait for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse so soon and it is going to be another movie date for me and my hubby.

My Fave Birthday Gifts

This week's theme for Girls Talk is Fave birthday gift ever received.

Since I came here in US that’s where I started receiving special gifts from my husband, in laws and some friends because every time I have my birthdays, I always received gifts unlike when I was still in the Philippines where I seldom to receive gifts, best gifts I should say.
One of the best birthday gifts I received from my birthday since I came here was last April 2006. My father in law gave me a Galanz microwave oven for a birthday gift which really surprises me!
Then, about a year ago after that April 2007, I received a gift from all the family, the best gift ever, a Sony MiniDV Handycam Camcorder. It was really a big surprise for me, and I almost cry when I received it. They are so sweet and I am so lucky to have in laws like them!


Then, by April 2008, I have a treat from hubby to one of my favorite restaurant, Joe’s Crab Shack and order the most expensive dinner which only costs $34, so it is not really that expensive when it comes to seafood entrée.


Then, recently, last April 2009, we went to Castaway Bay for a birthday getaway for me! It's a water park adventure where we stayed for two days and one night. Then, hubby gave me a new pair of clothing too from American Eagle, a jeans and a blouse which is pretty sweet of him.

I think that's what all I got for the best gifts I ever received.

Now, I am looking forward for my next birthday this coming April 2010 and will update this one if I can...

Brings Me Back

Did anything in the past week remind you of the past? If so, what?

~Yes, I called a friend the other day and I was in deja vu all of a sudden. Why? Because she had been with this guy for over a year now and he seem like he's acting like her ex boyfriend. I was like what, again? It really reminds me of anything from that past all of a sudden. I wish it could be different but I guess I was wrong. I hope I was wrong.

Did you feel nostalgic or perhaps relieved that it’s in the past?

~Yes, sort of. But, it seem like it's coming back and I don't want it for my friend again to happen.

What is the general feeling when you think about your past?

~My past? Well, it is a good thing to be learn, I learned a lot from my past and I really appreciate every things happened. Everything happened for a reason as well.

If you could go back to one time in your life, what would it be?

~Maybe, when I was in high school, I would never cheat anymore.

To Love, To Honor and To Vacuum

It's time for Aloha Friday for me! Although, I was a bit late to post my questions for this week, but it is better late than never right?

When it comes to cleaning, everything is fine with me as long as I don’t have to vacuum and use our huge and heavy vacuum cleaner. Therefore, I asked my husband about why not get rid our old vacuum and get a new one that is smaller and lighter, of course none of vacuums right now are as good as what we have right now, but it is easy to use and lighter than what we right now. So, every time I clean up our house in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in the living room, and in the bedroom, in the basement, I always asked my husband to vacuum the floors for me.

So my question is: Do you vacuum?

If you asked me, I don’t really like vacuuming but once in a while I did it because we have this small and lighter vacuum from Swiffer vacuum but I never use the big one. So I guess my answer to the question is yes! I did vacuum.

~Sort of, but I bought it a few months ago, it was a Twilight Soundtrack because I like the song from Linkin Park entitled "Leave Out All The Rest" and also the "Bella's Lullaby".

~Nope! Not at all, and not anymore. Well, I really wanted to go to see some concert of Kelly Clarkson and Colbie Caillat but they were out of the state concerts, so I can't unless we have to fly over there which takes a lot of work and time.

My Favorite Pastime

It's time for my Girls Talk meme and this week's theme is Favorite Pastime.

Well, one of my favorite pastime is blogging, of course. I have 6 blogs to maintain almost everyday of the week. I think I would spend whole day blogging without even thinking that I have something else to do other than being on the computer all the time. Aside from that, I also spend my time listening to my fave music video online. Another thing is that I like to sing during my spare time as well when I feel liking it too just like when taking naps...

During the night, I also spend my pastime watching my favorite shows on TV such as Forensic Files and Scared Tactics. Or I watch my favorite TV shows online such as SOCO and MKK and some teleseries as well. Also, together with my husband we watch movies too.

Last but not the least is shopping. Whenever I have time to do so, I would definitely be out of the house the whole day shopping and looking for something I wanted. I am so picky when it comes to buying shoes, clothing or purses, so sometimes it took me a whole day to find one or if unlucky, none at all.

My Fave Chocolate: Truffles of my Life

It's time for my Girls Talk meme and this week's theme is Favorite Chocolate.

I don't really like to eat chocolate that much but sometimes, I get dragged by hubby to eat some, but mostly I don't really eat chocolate until I have found the one that turns my views about chocolate and my taste buds started to feel like it. But there are two chocolates that I couldn't resist.

And here they are:

It is a chocolate truffles by Godiva especially their signature truffles collection. And guess what where I had my first taste of truffle chocolate? It when we went to my husband's cousin's wedding where she gave away godiva chocolate truffles as a thank you gift for their guests and since then, I always look forward to buy for more.

Then, the second one is the milk chocolate by Harry and David. I was being introduced by my sister in law who bought this truffle milk chocolate at the store, and she asked me if I wanted one. Since then, I never get enough of it.

These are the only milk chocolates that I will surely love to eat and nothing else. No matter what happened, this is the only chocolate that I feel not to divulge to someone else easily even to my husband and kid...

Or even you...lol!

REDnesday: Red Wagon

It's my first time to join REDnesday and thanks to my friend for introducing it to me. I would love this meme since I love color RED so now I will be looking forward to share more bloody red and to visit and blog hop to see more red in the future.


This is the wagon we bought the last time we went to Connecticut for a vacation last August 2009, and this is so special because we eventually uses it a lot during that time. We went to the zoo, to the park, to the beach, to the museum, and even to an air show with this wagon. I can't forget how hubby and I fought over this wagon too because as you know, it is way too much expensive for my budget. Well, I was not with him when he bought this wagon so; of course, it is not my fault after all. If I only knew I wouldn’t buy this wagon and probably choose the cheaper one, instead.


Of course, as the days went by, I started to love this wagon and I find it very helpful when it comes to dealing our son. He loves it too! So...I think it's worth it!

Over a month ago, my brother in law’s computer broke due to some power shortage that eventually burn out his computer. So, now he needed to send it back to the manufacturer to fix it, but unfortunately, they told him if he has some files in it, it is better for him to back it up on a CD or USB hard drive in order for him to save his files because if they are the one to back it up, they acquire him to pay over a hundred bucks. So, now he has been looking for some USB files that are enough to store his photos, since he is a photographer and he loves to take pictures and some of his important documents. 1. How’s the weather where you live? Have the seasons turned for you yet? What season is it where you live?
~The weather is fine as of now, it is somewhat sunny, although the wind is freezing. The Fall season turned about two months ago.

2. Does changing weather (including time changes) affect you at all? If so, how?
~Not really, when it comes with changing time but sometimes it affects how I sleep. Mostly that affects me is the changing weather, you know from cold to hot, then from hot to cold which gave my body a hard time to switch and adopt the new weather that sometimes made me sick.

3. What’s your favorite kind of weather? Why?
~I love Summer and spring because spring is not really cold nor hot. Then, summer is just perfect because I can able to be outside whenever I can.

Off from Blogging

Starting tomorrow, my husband and I will be so busy packing up the rest of our stuff and we will be staying at our new house for the night, so I can’t able to get online. Then, by Friday, we will be on my mother in law’s birthday party, so we will be back until Saturday, but that was the day to move out the rest of our stuff such as furniture and appliances. So, now we are getting ready and might not be able to get online until Tuesday next week because there will be no internet connection by these coming weekend. Hopefully, the Comcast will reconnect the cable and internet service by Monday next week so I can get online and do some updates as well because I have some assignment to do which I thought to finish maybe tonight.

This is what I hate about moving out again because there are a lot of things to do and by next week, I will have my exam again and then, I will be working on my day to upload stuff and put them into places which sometimes needs a lot of work and time, also an effort. Well, I wish I could get online sooner because I will be missing to blog.

Aloha Friday: Moving Out

It's a day late but here's my Aloha Friday entry for this week. A weekly meme brought to you by An Island Life.

Well, I missed posting my entry yesterday because I was so busy packing the rest of the things and selling some stuff on Craiglist as well. So, now luckily I got some time to post my Aloha Friday.

Now, I'm so excited about this move because this time we are going to move into a house. I hope we can be there for a long time because now I am so tired of staying in an apartment homes. So, now we are so busy packing things up and bring them whenever we can into our new home. We will have a week here and so now we are trying to get rid some of the things and get everything ready, hopefully before our moving out date. Actually this is my fourth times moving out since I came here in US and hopefully, this time we can able to stay for a longer than a year or more. I guess, we can because finally we get ourselves a house which is way better than renting an apartment or home.

So, obviously, my question for this week is:

How many times did you move out? Or never did?

Will Get New Phones

We will be in two years plan on March next year for our phone network coverage to be expired, therefore, my husband and I were so excited of getting ourselves a new cell phone again. We decided to get a new phone again this time and maybe a new telecommunication network since we have found these phones which were actually available on certain network.
Now, I was so excited because I have found this cell phone online that I really want and hubby, as usual always wanted a blackberry phone. There are a lot of cell phone retailers online that you can find best deal and that’s where we got our old cell phones two years ago. We have found it online and got it for free with activation network plan. So, now we are going to order it online again because we can save money as well as we can able to get the phone we really wanted.

Forensic Science and Reality Shows

Since I came here in US, I always love to watch these shows such as Forensic Files, The Investigators, CSI, Haunting Evidence, Murder by the Book, and Masterminds. I find these shows very exciting, interesting, and also helpful as we learn how to defend ourselves and to learn more about forensic science. I always find it very entertaining too. Therefore, hubby told me, that maybe I could be a forensic nurse, and so I thought, no way! I just wanted to watch those shows, but I don’t have planned to be a forensic scientist. It is just not me at all and I just don’t feel like dealing with evidences and dead people.

All these shows were from TRU TV, and I love this TV network because all their shows is very entertaining and fun, truly a reality TV show with no impersonation, no lies, or even publicity dilemma. Everything is true and actual; no wonder why they called their network TRU TV, not reality, actuality.

Now, I am stuck with these shows, and I really want more. Although, there are some shows as well that it tackles about solving crimes and I had fun watching these shows too such as Cold File Case, Most Wanted, and 24 Hours of Investigation which are some good shows to watch.

Now, I am watching Forensic Files, so better hang up now...

When hubby and I got this new house, we are planning to do some changes and maybe some replacement in the bathroom specifically. So, we thought that we might change and install a new toilet because we are quite skeptical with the toilet we had right now. It was fine but it was kind a old enough and got lots of stain in it. 1. How do you define happiness?
~Happiness for me defines joy ,love, and contentment. It can also be a satisfaction and a setting of a good life.

2. Do you consider yourself to be a fairly happy person most of the time? Why/why not?
~Yes, I do consider myself as a fairly happy person most of the time because I have my own way of doing things that satisfies me as well as fulfilling my contentment. I rather do things on my own if others won't find it satisfying or joyful. I just don't mind things that much probably that's the reason why, I always find myself to be happy.

3. Are you happy today (as of this entry)? Why/why not?
~Not really. Because my husband is out of work for two days and I am here alone with my son at home. I am quite not used to it yet, and it just right now because of his recent work and things that he needed to do tomorrow because of our intent to move out so soon.

So Far So Good

We had our first vacation with our son last August 2009, when we went to Connecticut to visit some family friends. When we were there we had so much fun, especially our son. I never thought it would be easier to travel with our son at that time, and so I order a portable DVD player online the vacation was fine especially when dealing with my son. Before that vacation, I really wanted to buy a DVD portable player we can bring with us for our son so he can able to watch movies while on the road. Therefore, I have found this DVD portable player at Amazon.com. I have found expensive DVD portable players online, but I have found cheaper ones too. One of the cheaper ones is Audiovox 7-Inch Portable DVD Player with Bonus Headphones and Car Kit. It has a Credit Card size remote which is so easy for me to get access and with the player even though I was sitting in front of the car.

Organization Skillz

1. How organized of a person would you describe yourself as being?
~Well, I would say, I am a very organized person. I want things on their designated places. If I arranged things, it always be on a right section. I am so picky about organizing stuff. I remember when I wrote about an essay paper about my organization skills, and one of the skills I put in is to make a list, make a calendar planner, pick priority jobs and avoid procrastination. Although, I procrastinate sometimes but I always make sure to make the consequences be better in the end.

2. Are you good at separating how organized you are from how organized (or disorganized) someone else is? Why/why not?
~Yes, especially my husband. My husband is not that organized as me especially when putting things where they used to be.

3. Which do you think is better: being organized or being messy? Why?
~Maybe, both. Being organized is so difficult sometimes and it is not easy to deal with especially when it comes with dealing with my son who is messy.

My Favorite Drinks

It's Wednesday and it is time for Girls Talk meme. A weekly meme made by Girls Rule where you can able to share your favorites, it could be anything and everything. So, this week's theme is: Favorite Drinks.

When it comes to drinking beverages, one of my favorite is pop soda (coke), who don't? But, recently, I stopped drinking one because I have noticed I got addicted to it and it was really bad for my health, especially with my menstrual cycle. So, I stopped and decided to just drink water or maybe a frozen juice. But, when I’m at school, I always get myself water or a Snapple peach tea drink.



When it comes to alcoholic beverages, I don’t really drink one, my stomach won’t accept them in any way which I don't really know why. But, I can drink sparkling wine juice, instead.


But when it comes to coffee, I love the Starbucks Frappucino Mocha...perfect!

This week on my The Simple Woman's Daybook...

Outside my window... is a foggy, cloudy day.

I am thinking... about what my result on the exam today and so I check it online as soon as I came home from school.

I am thankful for... passing my exam.

I am wearing... a brown long pants and a pink tee.

I am remembering... about my brother who called me last night and told me that I never ever call them anymore and probably I already forget about them which is not true.

I am going...to blog and maybe watch some of my favorite shows online.

I am reading... my health terminology book and some online news.

I am hoping... that someday we can able to cope up with what we are having right now.

On my mind... I was thinking about this love story I am watching right now entitled, " Lovers in Paris what could be the ending. I can't wait!

It's time for Weekly Wrap Up and this week's theme is Musical, so here are the questions:

What significance, if any, has music had in your life over the past week?
~Well, it really helped me to relax and unwind for a while, so music really plays a big role in my life. It also helps me to share, express my feelings and thoughts. Sometimes, it helps me to sleep well and just made my mind stop thinking.

How do you usually listen to music (CD, radio, MP3 player, elevators, computer)?

~I usually listen to music through CD when I'm in the car, MP3 player when we were at the park, on computers when I'm online and blogging.

Are you a casual listener or a more serious music fan?

~Well, I'm a casual listener, I only listened to the songs I like.

What are a couple of your favourite musicians or songs?

~I like Celine Dion, Micheal W. Smith, Darlene Zschech, Mariah Carey, West Life, and Boyz II Men. Some of the categories of songs that I love to listen to is love songs, praise and worship songs, pop, jazz, and some dance music as well.

Fall Back here in US

The Daylight savings time ends in the United States tonight at 2 am November 1st (Sunday.)

So, for those who can’t remember which way your clock goes, you turn it backwards one hour, so 2 am becomes 1 am. So, now hubby and I were still up because we thought it is only 12 am.

To learn more about Fall back daylight saving time, it eventually decreases the amount of daylight in the morning hours, so that more daylight is available during the evening.

But, if you’re in one of the following States or territories, don’t adjust your clocks, because you don’t observe daylight savings and time change 2009 fall doesn’t apply: Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas.

So, I may get an extra hour of sleep on Sunday morning, but too much isn't necessarily the best thing, though.

Anyway, clocks go forward again one hour in the United States on March 19, 2010.
