Aloha Friday: Favorite Quote
Friday, February 19, 2010

It's Friday and it is time for my Aloha Friday question. Friday is absolutely my favorite day since I don't have class during this day and I spent more time with being alone and just me since hubby is here as well. You know what I mean! He can watch our son for a while..
Last Monday is President's day. I don't know if some of knew about it but I already found out when some of my favorite stores are having President's sale and when my husband is off at work.
Well, my Aloha question is simply this:
What's your favorite quote from a President of the United States? Why do you find it inspirational?
Well, here's my favorite quote from Abraham Lincoln - the served as the 16th President of the United States. This is his quote when it comes to argument, "When I'm getting ready to reason with a man, I spend one-third of my time thinking about myself and what I am going to say -- and two-thirds thinking about him and what he is going to say.''
I find it inspirational because this is what I always do when I argue with my husband, brother or a friend. But let me rephrase it into something like this:
When I'm getting ready to reason with a man, I spend one-third of my time thinking about myself and what I am going to say in English since I am not a well spoken in English language -- and two-thirds thinking about him and what he is going to say, so I can be ready for what I am going to say next in English again.
Sometimes, it is too hard to argue when it is not your own, native language. Sometimes, I just shut my mouth off and just get over it, I don't want a nose bleed in the end of the argument.

I can't really come up with a favorite quote but I do love to listen to their speeches. They're so inspirational.
