Just Once...

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

I was amazed of how time went by so quickly, I still remember what happened last week on Girls Talk. Now it is another topic again and it is more interesting this time. This week's theme is all about first kiss.

I remembered my first (smack) kiss so badly, I think it was when I had a chance to talk to my former boyfriend at that time when we visit one of our friend's house. We had some misunderstandings and then we had a reconciliation at that point. After we talked it over, he just stole a kiss from me. He kissed me barely on my lips at that time, it happened so quick that I never had a chance to see it coming. It was my first kiss. I felt so cold after and when I went to bed. I was scared a little bit so I had to go to bed right away. So, I said good night to him and by the next morning, we pretend it never happened. It happened just once and it never happened anymore until we broke up.

Then, my first (real) kiss is when I finally met my husband. The first time he visited me in the Philippines we sealed our first kiss, our first for all kisses we will be having in the future.

What I hate of being Pregnant?

Saturday, January 16, 2010

I still vividly remember when I got pregnant; we were both excited and can’t wait to see our baby. Then, after a few months of being pregnant, one thing that I hate the most when being pregnant was to take my prenatal vitamins everyday! I’ve fed up and so I would missed them by two or three days before taking new ones again. I just don’t like the taste and even the smell. I wish I could choose the flavor or something. Then, aside from the prenatal vitamins, I have to take calcium tablets too since I don’t drink milk that is required for a pregnant woman. It was sickening and I hate it but mostly I love being pregnant because I don’t need to carry heavy stuff when we went for grocery shopping to help my husband out which is a good thing.

Saturday 6 for Jan. 16th

This week on Saturday 6:

1. You’re at an Italian restaurant on a first date: how do you eat your spaghetti: do you cut it with the folk or roll it onto the tines? (And eating something else isn’t an option!) = Well, I roll it into the tines using a fork.

2. You’ve prepared a nice soup for dinner when you happen to hear a news story that bay leaves, even after being cooked, are sharp enough to tear internal organs when eaten whole. (It’s true.) Do you fish them out of your masterpiece, warn your guests in advance not to eat them, or just assume everyone knows to not eat the extra greenery? = somebody eat a bay leaf? I don't! I put bay leaf on my recipe but always fish them out after they made my cook smells good.

3. You’re having dinner at a nice restaurant with a group of friends and acquaintances. The sauce of your main course is the best you’ve ever tasted. You’ve eaten most of the dish, but you’ve got part of a roll and some sauce left. Do you sop up a little sauce for one more taste? = Sure, why not!

4. This time, you’re at a seafood restaurant with folks you don’t know as well. Do you order a crab or lobster, a dish that would involve a lot of shell-cracking and a potential minor mess, or do you stick with something cleaner like a nice grilled fillet? = I would love a crab than a lobster but I would stick to a crab cake instead because it is less messy..

5. You’re invited to a cookout by a friend, but when you get there, you discover that the main thing being cooked, that everyone else is a big fan of, is something you don’t like. Would you still eat a serving to be neighborly, or try to talk your way out of that one dish? = I would try it maybe a little side maybe...

6. You’re back at a seafood restaurant with friends. Unknowingly, you order a fish that is served whole, head and all. Do you send it back or just deal with it? = Oh with head? Are you kidding me, I loved it! No way I will send it back!

Aloha Friday for Jan. 16th

This week on Aloha Friday question is:

Were you named after anyone? If not, how did you get your name?

My answer is: I was named right after my dad's first name and my mom's first four letter name.

My dad's name is Jesie and my mom's name is Violeta...so it turns out to be Jesie Viol.

Actually, my name would be April Rose since I was born in the month of April but then my mom changed her mind eventually so she named me after both of their names.

Acne Lotion for Me!

A few days ago, I went to the store to buy my facial lotion in order to keep my face from dryness and even to keep it smooth during winter season. Then, I thought of myself, I wish there’s an acne lotion that will help my skin being free from having acne too because who likes having acne? No one right? So, I wish there is an acne lotion available today, until I have found one online when I looked for one this morning. Acnexus is really famous when it comes to treating acne and at the same time moisturizes the skin and helps prevent from break outs. It also works for like 24 hours which is a good thing especially if you have no time putting lotion every now and then. I really wanted to try this product because it also helps your skin to get rid of blackheads and red skin.

Well, I better see how the customers are saying about this product too.

Weight Loss programs, Is it really effective?

The question is: did you really know that 90% quick weight loss program do not work? Well, I think it will depend on one’s metabolism if the weight loss program that they were trying to do is working. I have met some people who did lose weight by dieting and to have a proper diet meal, and also this so called dieting after 6pm where you don’t need anything after 6 pm. Also, I have met people who haven’t lose any weight no matter what they do unless when they took a diet pill then it works well plus with exercise and proper diet meal plan. So, I think it depends. If a person had a good metabolism, good health, then I guess a weight loss program might work for them. So it is really better to try and see which way is effective for you to lose weight and be fit.

What Now?

Friday, January 15, 2010

This week on 3x Thursday:

Say someone says something *really* insulting to you about you personally.

1, How do you react? = I just become silent. They will noticed it because then I will never smile nor response to any talks anymore. I guess, I am more on silence when it comes to being insult. Then, after they will never heard about me again.

2, What exactly do you say to that person when it’s time to confront them? = Well, I always so slow when it comes to confrontation. I can't talk in front of the person, rather I wrote her or his a letter to express my anger or disappointment which is easier for me to show how I feel.

3, What’s the resolution? = I think to talk it over but I never expect any changes might happen but a self control of when and where to talk about and insult me. It is just awkward to make things better again but I guess there will be gaps by then.

Girls Talk: Free Date at Jollibee

This week on Girls Talk topic is First Date.

It was funny because it was not actually a date. I have a suitor before in high school and after we graduated we went to college and still pursued me. So, when the time comes that finally graduated from college and got his first job.
During those times, we still have communication through a text messages. So, when he got his first job, I told him jokingly in a text message to buy me lunch or dinner if he got his first check. Surprisingly, he did and I was kind in a thought if I was doing the right thing because I don't want him to think about something else.

Well, it was actually a friendly date and he is one of my friends in high school and nothing serious at all. He is the best interesting person to talk to as well because he is smart and very intelligent.

We had our friendly date at Jollibee Restaurant. Nothing romantic at all but it was so sweet of him doing that, though. So, all those times he thought of me to buy me lunch for free.

Well, I wish I could do something in return...

REDnesday: Things in the House!

This week on REDnesday, I am going to share some of the things we got in the house that is red.

This is the candle I bought at TJMAxx and it was on sale, it was a candle of love! Well, they just made of warm apple...

It's kind a blurry but it's a freezer magnet. We got this last Christmas from my mother in law and it is the first letter of our last name!

My mother in law loves apple decors a lot! So, she gave one of her paper towel holder that she bought a couple of months ago and I loved it. It's pretty.

I love this candle holder, I bought this at IKEA for only $2.99 for four pieces and it's cool because it never turns black because of the flame or smoke from the candle. I like it.

Have You Ever?

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Have you ever had a chance to use alli diet pills just to lose weight? If you do then tell me if it really works? I really wanted to try this product for me to lose my belly fat which I actually I got during my pregnancy a couple of years ago. I thought of maybe a diet pills will work even though I don’t exercise. I hate exercising, really. It was not my option these days, especially when it is really cold outside. I rather stayed at home, cuddle and snuggle myself to sleep than to work out. I wish I could do it at home but it is so boring to work out alone.
So, tell me if you have ever been using alli diet pills…what do you think about it?

Pinay in States Daybook for December Jan. 12th

FOR TODAY... from Pinay in States' Daybook for The Simple Woman's Daybook meme.

Outside my window... cold and snowing...

I am thinking... about what to do today when it is still snowing outside...

I am thankful for... my son who just turned 3 last SUnday...

I am wearing... pajama and t-shirt

I am remembering... how nice it is and warm in the Philippines during this season

I am going... out with my husband tonight and our kid to go shopping for food.

I am currently reading... none...

I am hoping... that I could able to go to my school on Thursday without a problem or hassle. I am kind a excited about the beginning of the school...

On my mind... I was thinking when to get my books for the class...

Noticing that... sometimes, the sun is up but it is still cold outside!

Pondering these words... The big strong brave men, that we've all been reading about in novels and watching in movies since we've been nine years old, - -that's a fallacy. They don't exist. Men are not strong. Men are not brave. Men, are afraid. Even if they have a moment in a hotel elevator and it's totally romantic and full of potential, men are incapable of copping to it because, why? Men are weak. from the movie "The Ugly Truth (2009)

From the kitchen... dishwasher running, smell of coffee and egg and bacon

Around the house... my son's toys are everywhere, books, and blanket

One of my favorite things~ sleeping and taking naps during day time and blogging of course.

From my picture journal...

My son who just turned 3 last Sunday!

First Cummunion

Sunday, January 10, 2010

I have a lot of catholic friends when I was in the Philippines before. One of the things I understood about their religious belief is when they’re celebrating their first communion. Since then I thought communion is for only in Catholicism but I was wrong because a few months ago we went to my husband’s nephew first communion. It was not really a big party afterward but it was just an enjoyment that finally he built the relationship between him as an individual to God. Well, to some people first communion is a big deal where they also send communion invitations to their family and friends. I think it doesn’t matter at all as long as you have a strong foundation towards God and have an open heart for acceptance.

Dreams

Friday, January 8, 2010

This week on The Friday Five questions:

1. What did you dream about last night? = I had a weird dream last night. I thought my son came over to our bedroom and sleep with me in the bed after his dad left for work. But when I woke up this morning, he wasn't there instead he was on his bed. I don't know if I'm dreaming only but it seems like real.

2. Do you record your dreams in your blog or a journal? = No. I never did. Well, that's a good thing to do but sometimes I don't want to remember some of my dreams. I don't want other people to know...

3. Do you think dreams are messages our bodies are trying to tell us? If so, are you real big on trying to interpret all the details? = I think dreams are the reflection of what you were thinking before you went to bed. Sometimes, I gave a big deal on some of my dreams but sometimes it is just an outcome of being stressed and tired.

4. Do you remember your first nightmare? = Nope. I already forgot but there's a nightmare I had when I was pregnant with my son almost three years ago that I would never forget because it seem like it was real...

5. Have you ever had a recurring dream? If you did, what was it and what do you think it meant? = I had a few dreams that I always dream about but it was just nothing usual...

Need some Fitness Equipment

Thursday, January 7, 2010

After the holiday and New Year’s Eve, I was thinking of buying myself new fitness equipment because I have gained three pounds now since the holiday. You know when it comes to holiday like this, food is always the main course aside from gifts and spending time with family. Food is always around and available. So, now I am planning to lose weight and work out hopefully. I have to burn some extra fats and maybe lose about 13 pounds instead. My husband was thinking the same thing too. I guess next year, if we can able to do so, we’re looking forward to buy new fitness equipment for ourselves.

Girls Talk: His Name starts with R and B

This month on Girls Talk topic is all about firsts! This week is all about our First Crush.

Well, here's my story: It is so weird because all my crush names merely starts with the letter R but my first crush name is Roberto, his nick name Bobby. He is our neighbor way back in the Philippines. I was so madly had a crush on him that I even cried looking out our window staring at their house while he was talking to this other girl who also our neighbor. I was so funny at that time since I also dreamed to marry him someday and be close to my parents if I marry him. I was thinking it could be so weird since we were neighbor and my dad won't like him that much.
Also, when we were kids together with my childhood friend Mae, he used to bully us and call us names. Then, we ended up bullying him too and make funny calls on his name too. It was a nightmare and I never thought I will go beyond.

Unfortunately, he never did like me at all, though. He eventually liked my cousin instead who stayed with us for a couple months but as friends. I never heard that they had a relationship or something.

Until now, he never probably thought he is one of my crush, my first crush actually. Well, it was now all over and he is now a part of my past..

2. Is there anything you *don’t* about NYE? If so, what? = I guess, when I missed celebrating this year together with my family back in the Philippines. I missed them so much. It's been four years now that I haven't celebrating new year with them.

3. What are you doing for NYE this year? = Well, we just stayed home and watched TV.

Forget long-term goals for 2010. Name 3 short-term (say, 6 months) goals that you have, and how you can go about achieving them.

~Maybe to finish the classes I took this semester.
~Well, maybe to plan a vacation to my family in the Philippines, hopefully.
~Lastly, I would have to drive again and get my own car...

Plasma Mount for our HDTV

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Since we got our new plasma TV, I thought of getting a plasma mount too for it so we can able to put it on either the wall or just anything without a TV furniture in it because sometimes a furniture takes a lot of space and I was kind a having hard time with it. So, I told my husband that maybe we can just get a TV plasma mounts at any store or online so we can just hang our flat screen and then we can put some nice things underneath it instead. Good thing I have found some plasma mounts at standsandmounts.com which is good for 40 to 60 inches flat screen tv. Well, now I can’t wait to tell my husband about it.

Saturday Six: January 2nd

Sunday, January 3, 2010

This week on Saturday Six questions:

1. What is your favorite holiday of the year? = Thanksgiving...

2. What are the three things that makes this your favorite? = Turkey, Pumpkin Pie, and the special day to be thankful...

3. What is your least favorite holiday of the year? = Halloween...

4. Considering days that are celebrated but that are holidays, like St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day, for example, which one would you make into a national holiday if you had the chance? = Valentine's Day...

5. Take the quiz: What Should You Celebrate?

You Should Celebrate Love
You may or may not be deeply in love, but it doesn't really matter on New Year's Eve.
If you can't kiss the one you love, kiss the one you're with!

You can't help but get swept away by the romance of this special night.
Of course, drinking lot of champagne doesn't hurt make everyone else seem a little more appealing.

6. If there were a holiday created to celebrate the specific thing listed as the answer in #5, would you willingly celebrate it? = Yes!!! I guess Valentine's day is the day for love to celebrate.

Hibernation is finally Over!

When my sister and her family came over for a holiday vacation with us, I was kind so excited about it that I don't want to blog or do other things for a while. Aside from that, I get used to it. Now, I've been missing to blog for almost three weeks now and I feel so bad about it. Then, New Years came, that's where I started getting lazy now to blog and just wanted to watch movies and sit. Although, I do some household chores but I never felt on writing and to update my blogs. I feel like I was hibernating or something especially now that it is so cold here in Michigan.

Anyway, I will be pretty busy soon when school starts on the 14th of January, I’ll be missing to blog again. I wish I could just do blogging but I can’t and I have to go to school to pursue my career. I can’t be a blogger for my whole life.

Well, now I am so glad I’m back on blogging for now and I wish I could do anything I have to do before the next week starts soon. Although, I still feel I was so tired and exhausted but I'm glad hibernation is over somehow.
