Work Out Less, still Lose Weight...

Thursday, February 25, 2010

I have heard from a friend a couple of days ago that her husband bought her a treadmill. I was so surprise since she was dying to get a treadmill because she really wanted to lose weight and stay fit. I remember telling her to get a treadmill or maybe a lifetime fitness membership where you can enjoy different types of treadmills at the gym. Then, she wishes I was there so we can able to go together. I wanted to go and work out too but sometimes it makes me feel bored and tired especially if you don’t have a companion to do it.
Then, now she have a treadmill to enjoy, I wish I could have one too or maybe living closer to where she at. Well, I guess, I have to buy my own or move out of this state that would cost a lot then buying a treadmill, right?

Well, I think I have to buy one and will tell my husband about it since I have heard that treadmills help you work out less but still you're losing weight. I can't wait to have a treadmill of my own.

50 Years From Now

This week on 3x Thursday:

1. Do you think we will have made any space-like advances? If you had to guess, what would they be? You can also make this your wish list! = I don't think so because we don't have that much equipment yet and I don't think it will happen. People are just exaggerating or something.

2. Seeing how much media changes every single day, not to mention how much it has changed in the past 15 years, how different do you think things will be in the year y2k+60? = Maybe, media will be more advanced in terms of how they deliver their news and shows to the mass.

3. What about medical advances? What kind of things do you think they will have discovered, fixed, or advanced? What would be most important to you? Why? = Maybe a cure for cancer, especially leukemia, a cure that is less painful and safe to use because this is the only disease that people had been suffer because of side effects and the outcome of medication.

Simple Woman's Daybook for Feb. 23rd

This week on Pinay in States' daybook for The Simple Woman's Daybook meme:

Outside my window... there’s sunshine but it feels cold when I got the mail from yesterday.

I am thinking...that someday I could go home in the Philippines and spend time with my family and enjoy what I’ve been missing for these past couple years.

I am thankful for...the blessings that God bestow to us.

From the learning rooms...my son just broke his text and learn toy, the button won’t work now.

From the kitchen...my husband did make coffee, and cook some bacon and eggs for me!

I am wearing... pajamas and t-shirt.

I am creating...this meme and I’m still doing some assignments too.

I am going...to school today…

I am hoping...that my husband will get well soon…
I am hearing...my noisy kids around together with his car and train toys…

Around the house...there are some few messes here and there…

One of my favorite things...is blogging and play games at Facebook, also shopping if I have money, and watching my favorite shows online on TFC Now.

A few plans for the rest of the week: well, not sure yet, maybe will visit a friend, or me studying for my upcoming exam again.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Girls Talk: The Romantic and Heart Centered lover

This week's topic for Girls Talk meme is: Describe yourself as a LOVER.

This week's topic is so interesting; then, I was spending quite a few minutes thinking of how type of lover I am. So, I thought of myself, I am a romantic person too because I am merely focused of being in love. I always prioritize our relationship no matter what, I spent time with him and even talk to him when we go to bed despite the fact that he went to work during the day and I went to school at night. Therefore, even little celebration such as Valentine’s Day, we always has time for each other, giving gifts, and saying I love you’s every day. I am more on a silent type when expressing love too. I think I am more on actions than words. I always find ways to be creative for him as well. Surprise him with little things that sometimes getting him off his feet.

I am also a heart centered lover which sometimes, I always follow what my heart said and feel. Love is based on trust which is what matter the most but also trust, honesty, compassion and being connected to my husband is also an important values I keep. Therefore, when it comes to loving him, I always had seen what makes this relationship work out. I am more to be loving, generous, understanding, and loyal to the one I love.

Sometimes, nobody is perfect, I have temper too. Sometimes, I hurt him with what I was saying but sometimes, I feel regretful and ask for forgiveness. I am easy to forgive, but not to forget. I am more on a specific type of person. If my husband had some mistakes before, I already forgot about it and I will never dig what’s being buried. I am an open-minded as well when it comes to relationship which sometimes it is so hard to keep.

Levels of Smoking

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Do you know that smoking in third degree on cigar now is considered to be risky to the health? I have heard this news a couple of months ago and I thought why could it be? It is all about the particles of second hand smoke that was left through hair, clothing, things that they said will produce hazards especially to small kids especially with people with chronic heart and lung diseases or allergies. I thought passive smoking is already dangerous, how come more the one who smoke cigar or cigarettes.

Well, I don’t smoke and I always thought that smoke is bad to your health. A few days ago, my psychology class mentioned about those cigarettes warning on the brand label, here in US it says, smoking is dangerous to your health but in Canada it says, you will die! Isn’t it funny but it is true.

Aloha Friday: Favorite Quote

Friday, February 19, 2010

It's Friday and it is time for my Aloha Friday question. Friday is absolutely my favorite day since I don't have class during this day and I spent more time with being alone and just me since hubby is here as well. You know what I mean! He can watch our son for a while..

Last Monday is President's day. I don't know if some of knew about it but I already found out when some of my favorite stores are having President's sale and when my husband is off at work.

Well, my Aloha question is simply this:

What's your favorite quote from a President of the United States? Why do you find it inspirational?

Well, here's my favorite quote from Abraham Lincoln - the served as the 16th President of the United States. This is his quote when it comes to argument, "When I'm getting ready to reason with a man, I spend one-third of my time thinking about myself and what I am going to say -- and two-thirds thinking about him and what he is going to say.''

I find it inspirational because this is what I always do when I argue with my husband, brother or a friend. But let me rephrase it into something like this:

When I'm getting ready to reason with a man, I spend one-third of my time thinking about myself and what I am going to say in English since I am not a well spoken in English language -- and two-thirds thinking about him and what he is going to say, so I can be ready for what I am going to say next in English again.

Sometimes, it is too hard to argue when it is not your own, native language. Sometimes, I just shut my mouth off and just get over it, I don't want a nose bleed in the end of the argument.

Need a New Stroller

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

My husband and I went to Connecticut last year for a vacation and when we were there, we had my son’s stroller used whenever and wherever we need it too. So when we went to the beach, we had his stroller and we didn’t know sand can be hazardous to stroller's wheels since now the stroller is ruined or damage of sand. Now, my son’s stroller is a mess. Whenever we went to the mall, the wheels are wiggling and it won’t work well anymore. I always told my husband to get a new one but he was kind a hesitant because our son is now 3 years old and sooner he might not want or need it anymore which I doubted.

Anyway, I wish I could buy a new stroller and definitely would buy the one like I found online, the Bob revolution stroller. It was seem durable and well-made. Plus, the wheels is more durable and absolutely will last long but when it comes to its price, well, I can’t afford that for a stroller.

Well, maybe you can! Check them out and you will love it too!

Went Sledding

Monday, February 15, 2010

Last week, during snow storm here in Michigan, my husband and together with our son went sledding for the first time. I was so excited since it is also my first time to sled. I never been to sledding in my entire life since I came here in US.

Anyway, we went to the area where hills are available and of course, lots of snow! I was so excited where I forgot to bring my son's mittens, good thing I have found his other mittens in the car. So, we went off and I tried to get some pictures. Too bad I don't have that much good pictures to share since my son always pull out his mitten out of his hand. Obviously, he is not used to wearing mittens all the time, therefore, it is too hard for us to forced him by wearing one. So, we just went sledding a couple times and then went back to the car because my son's hand were cold and probably burning because he was kind a uncomfortable and crying at the same time. Well, I wish we have a mitten that he could not pull off from his hand.

Well, hoping for more snow this month or maybe next month so we can able to play more especially now that I have found a mittens for toddler who likes to pull off their mittens all the time. I am so happy and excited about it since I have a snow-stopper mittens. I wish this mittens will work for our son.
So, those are some of the photos I took last time we went sledding. It wasn't that good...

Maybe next time...

Chicken Skin Problem

When I came here in US, almost five years ago, I slowly noticed something on my left arm shoulder, it was indeed usual because I have found the same acne problem with my sister and my sister in law. I don’t know what it is but it is look like acne. Sometimes, they were itchy when they were dry and I have to put lotion all the time to avoid rashes. I put a lot of cream, facial cleanser on it but still it never disappears. I never went to a dermatologist to check this out since I don’t have time and I don’t want to spend money on it. I wish there’s a body acne treatment that meant to cure this type of acne. It just like small bumps, some said it is a chicken skin problem but it is not harmful at all. I also found some answer online about how to prevent and maybe keep it away by exfoliating my arms at the end of my shower with a loofa. Do this at the end so that your pores are open. The scrubbing should make them go down a lot. Well, I guess, I have to do it and let see what will happen.

Saturday 6 for Feb. 13th

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions.

1. What is the most snow you remember ever seeing where you live? = I think it was last year and this year.

2. Given a choice, would you prefer a day of snow or a day of rain? = A day of snow because it is not that wet...

3. How easily does your local area respond to snow or ice on roads? = Well, very active when it comes to public express ways and highways but not on residential areas.

4. Considering the source from which you most often get your forecast, how accurate was that source over the past week?

5. Take the quiz: Are You a Snow Bunny?

You Are a Snow Bunny

When it comes to snow, the more snow you get the merrier you are.
You believe that snow is magical and beautiful. Just seeing the snow fall makes you feel peaceful.

You love to be out and about in the snow, whether you're making a snowman or hitting the slopes.
You don't even mind shoveling snow. If that's the price you have to pay for a winter wonderland, you'll gladly pay it.

6. Okay, it’s time to confess: when the snow starts moving in, do you go to the grocery store and buy up all of the milk and bread? = No, not at all.

Organic Face Cream

Last week, I went to the store to buy myself a new facial cream. When I was there I couldn’t find what I was looking for since I don’t know which one to buy. So, I took like an hour to compare and see which facial cream is the best until I went to an area where organic face cream is available. I did not know that there’s an organic facial cream, so I thought it might be safer to use and healthy enough to wear every day. I wish I was right since I bought one. Although, it is way more expensive than usual facial cream but I think it is more reasonable enough, if you were talking about safer and effective facial cream, right? I was looking forward to try it soon since I still never did.

Suprising Acne Visit

Last week, in the midst of nowhere I have noticed some pain on my left cheek. Then, I looked at the mirror, it was a pimple. I was so surprise since before my menses came, I never ever had a pimple since I came here in US. It was weird since once in a while when I was still in the Philippines, I always had one or two pimples before my menstruation. Then, it stopped when I came here in US since when I got pregnant it explodes to something unexpected when hormone triggers.

Anyway, after my pregnancy, it went away. Since then I never had any single adult acne or pimple. It is just so weird since I just had it last week and then it is bigger, so I started healing it with facial cleanser and it was now all gone. I was so surprised and then began reminiscing of what I just ate that changed my diet and my body’s regulation. I don’t know why but I guess it is my body that made sudden changes which I don't know what it is. I wish it is for the better…

Pick-me-ups

On 3x Thursday: List and describe 3 things you do when you’re depressed to get yourself feeling better. Why do these things work for you?

First thing, I always do when I'm sad and depressed is sleep because through sleeping I can forget my problem and disappointment for a while. Sometimes, I made it through to sleep after I cried and feel lighter than I was before. Sometimes, crying is the best way to burst out the anger and sadness.

Secondly, I go out with friends, and talk to them my problem and share. Sometimes it is so easy to talk to one person. I have circle of friends, but there's only one that I can be open. I can talk to her anything I wanted to say and she just listen and helped me out. I think she is such a good psychologist if she wanted to. She could be a good counselor.

Lastly, I watched my favorite shows on TV and forget about anything...Or go shopping alone and buy what I wanted!

That's all I could think and I guess, I already did all of them and I found out that it indeed made me feels good and better.

Favorite Candy!

Former questions from last week on 3x Thursday...

List your 3 favorite kinds of candy (any kind) and tell us why you like them!

These candies are actually made from the Philippines which I missed eating a lot. Since I couldn't find them here. Actually there is only one store who sell which is a Philippine store where you can find online and order to them. Sometimes, shipping is pain in my pocket, so I seldom ordering from them.

Anyway, here are the three candies I love!

1. Purple Yam Candy - because it is made with real yam, although it is somewhat sweet but you can definitely tasted the yam. We called it, Philippine ube or purple yam is a popular, delicious delicacy that is made from the sinewy root crop delicately mixed with fresh powdered milk and sugar. Luscious and soft, this pastillas-like candy is the best tasting Philippine ube (Purple Yam), a popular Filipino delicacy.

2. Kopiko Capuccino candy - it is made with real coffee and turned it into a candy. Love it, why because I don't need to drink coffee when I'm looking for one. Kopiko is the essence of the highest quality coffee. A single Kopiko candy contains real extract from real coffee beans. Kopiko is a real coffee pleasure anytime you want. Taste it, coffee onside! Also, DYNAMITE CHOCO-FILLED MINT CANDY because it is a chocolate filling in it and it is minty, love it too.

3. Lastly, a Tamarind candy - in sweet and salty flavor. They are just the best and it is natural, no preservatives at all.

Girls Talk: My Valentine Date

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

This week's topic for Girls Talk meme is Who’s your valentine’s date for 2010?

Valentine's day! What it is really mean? Well, a love month, a month where you can express your love to your special someone beyond or more than what is usual you expressed love. I don't celebrate Valentine's day until I have found a special someone. Of course, having someone special can be meaningful, right? More meaningful, right than having family around or friends.

Well, this upcoming valentine's day, my one and only date is my husband but if we couldn't get a baby sitter to watch our son during the night, probably, I will have two dates. my husband and my son. My husband said a few days ago, he will bring me out to dinner on that day which I replied, "thanks". It sounds so funny to him but I was amused because that's the first time he said that. Although, we always eat out but I always be the one to initiate that we will eat out because I don't want to cook.

Well, my husband loves home food therefore he is not really a restaurant eater and the rest is more information which I don't want to share here since it will be then out of topic.

Warning sa mga "Bakasyonistang OFWs, Balikbayan at sa lahat nating kamag-anak sa Pilipinas...

Saturday, February 6, 2010

I just feel to share it here...just to inform the OFW's about the recent modus operande were the target is the balikbayan... It is just better to be inform and be suspicious than to be sorry...

MAG-INGAT KAYO sa Metro Manila at sa ibang lugar sa Pilipinas

As received, I'd like to share this very important warning message for the hardworking fellow kababayans abroad who
are going on vacation to the Philippines ....

Gagamitin niya and kanyang cellphone at

KAPAG NASA PILIPINAS.
IWASAN PO NINYONG DAMPUTIN ANG ANO MANG BAGAY NA MAIIWAN NG MGA KUSTOMER NA AGAW-PANSIN.

IPAALAM PO NATIN ITO SA LAHAT NG ATING KASAMANG OFW AT MAGING SA MGA
KAMAG-ANAK NATIN NA NASA PILIPINAS.

HINDI PO TAYO NAMUMULOT NG SALAPI PARA NAKAWIN SA ATIN NG MGA WALANG PUSONG NAGPAPAKILALANG ALAGAD NG BATAS ANG
SALAPING ATING PINAGHIRAPAN, PATI PO ANG MAGANDANG PANGALAN NATIN AY KANILANG
SISIRAIN.

Ito po ay nangyayari sa lugar ng Bulacan, Laguna, Antipolo, Bataan , at
Quezon City ..

Moving to Hawaii?

Friday, February 5, 2010

A few days ago, my husband and I were talking about how cold it gets here in Michigan a few years back, and then I started remember my home country, Philippines of how warm it is all year around. Then, one of the things I noticed we began sharing about moving out of state. I was thinking of moving to Hawaii and him in Florida. I have found Hawaii very exquisite, exotic and yet simple. I also find some tropical fruits in that state too which probably I will love. So, he agreed for a bit with my idea and although we’re talking as if we were serious, but it is nice to know that sometimes we have something to agree with. Girls Talk: My One and only True Love

This week on Girls Talk topic is to Describe your One True Love..

It's been a while since I made my last post on Girls Talk meme. I have been so pretty busy lately due to my classes just started last month. So, now I am stuck with too much assignments and errands. Well, it is better late than never, right?

Well, this week's topic is so interesting since this is the chance where I am going to introduce to you my one and only true love!
My husband is just so perfect for me. I don't know what to say, but he is just the right one for me. I can't find anything that is off with him. I don't know why but maybe that's the reason why I fell in love with him. Some of the traits I love at him was he is a God-fearing, a loving and wonderful person, very quiet and serious (he seemed serious to people who hardly known him) but he was a very jolly and funny person too. He has a great sense of humor, ambitious, understanding, but nobody is perfect right? He got bad temper too, and if he does get provoked, he is quite uptight. He likes outdoor a lot and when it comes to his family, he rather have us to be with than his friends which I find good enough. His family is so close to each other which is a good foundation for us eventually because we always have time for each other.

He loves to watch movies a lot, he likes to watch movies over and over again which I don't argue at all.
