Simple Woman's Daybook for March 30th

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

This week on Pinay In States daybook:

Outside my window...is cold windy day here in our area, although the sun is up!

I am thinking... about what are the coverage of my exam next month, how to do the project that we need to do before the finals, and I am thinking of getting a new body wash at BBB.

I am thankful for...my husband and my son, for having a family here on my own is a great blessing that I could cherish for the rest of my life.
From the learning rooms... a lot of papers, newspapers, blank dvd and cd's.

From the kitchen...I could smell the shrimp fajitas I made for lunch and dirty utensils and pans.

I am wearing... short and tees..

I am creating...a list of what to bring for our up coming vacation up north this weekend.

I am going...to school tonight for my last class for this week..

I am reading...my class books again...
I am pondering...the words I just read a while ago: Love seems the swiftest, but it is the slowest of all growths. No man or woman really knows what perfect love is until they have been married a quarter of a century.

I am hoping...for a happy, fun, exciting vacation this weekend.

I am hearing...my son watching his favorite show Dora the Explorer.

Around the house...toys are everywhere!
One of my favorite things...clothing, purse and shoes!

A few plans for the rest of the week:
1) shopping for groceries
2) a long drive to Mackinaw City
3) Enjoy whatever will be there...

Here's picture for thought I am sharing...

It's my son having fun taking off and on the closet light while I was dressing up, so I took a picture of him as an evidence hehehe....

Need a new Seat?

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Last night, my husband and I together with our son went to my mother in law last night to help her out putting up the new curtain she got at her window, it was blue and very nice blue color. I was so happy since we can able to help her out again and then, we stayed for a while and watched TV while waiting for the water to come back due to main city water pump problem. During those times, we found out that one of her toilet is kind an old now and need a new replacement. She was still using it but it was already not good looking. I thought there must be an affordable, cheaper American Standard toilets online that I could look at. So, my husband and I look for one and told my mother in law about it. She was kind a hesitated because she need to spend money again and she doesn’t want to. The price is quite overwhelming but it is much better if you need a durable bathroom toilet that lasts for a life time. Well, it’s her choice…

Winter Break is Over but...

I had my winter break last two weeks ago and so glad that it's almost time for my spring break again. I can't even wait to just be home during these time and enjoy it without schooling for a week. I am just getting tired of schooling and I wish I could fast forward time and get over it.

Anyway, now I am back to school and looking forward for our up coming exam next week. Now, I need to study again and get an A again. I was doing bad on my first exam but last exam I had I was running in to it which is good. Sometimes at first exam, you don't know how the teacher will give her exam and so at first try, I was kind a nervous and what is the exam look like. At the second time, I was doing best. I was thankful enough.

Now, I am going to school again for my Tuesday class. I had so much fun on this class because we can tackle anything that is related to Psychology. I guess this is the class that I find very interesting and funny.

Well, I can't wait for this coming weekend too, we will be out of town for three days to enjoy Easter somewhere else green. I can't wait!

Working Dangerously

When my husband started his job a few years ago as a truck driver, I thought what if something will happen. I don’t want anything to occur but we don’t know God’s plan. In the midst of my thought, I heard my husband came home from work and had paper works on his hand. I asked him what it is and he told me it was for life insurance application. It was so weird but I thought their boss and I had the same thoughts about their drivers. You know, it was so dangerous being on the road the whole day and you don’t know what might happen. So, I guess, having a life insurance can prevent the situation from occurring and I believe that God will always protect and take good care of us.

After a year, he finally decided to quit and find a new job, instead. He’s back to teaching which is somewhat bring good thoughts for me. It made feel secured and safe for my husband as well. Although, he works with military again now, we’ll just a thought; maybe my husband really likes to work dangerously. No matter what he wants, I just supported him of what he wants to do because I know it is also good for our family.

Thank God it's Friday! This is actually my favorite day of the week and so glad that days went by so quickly now that it made me so excited for next month.

Anyway, when it's Friday, it is also time for Aloha Friday, a weekly meme where you can share questions to others.

So, here's my Aloha Friday question for the week:

Nails on a chalkboard, TV static, the alarm clock... What noise annoys you most?

For me, definitely the nails on a chalkboard and the TV static or any static especially when you came out from the car and it is freezing out. It is just weird feeling but I did hate it.

What about you?

Photos I would rather hide...

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

This week on Girls Talk Meme is to share a picture that I would rather hide...

I have many pictures that I would rather hide because since I got pregnant and became a mom, I was having trouble dealing with my belly fat, so every time I took a picture, the nightmare I can only see is my belly fat. I have many pictures of them that I would rather hide and maybe throw them away. I don't want to share those type of pictures but in Girls Talk meme, I would just for Mommy Niko.

Anyway, here are some of the pictures that I would rather hide and maybe burn out...lol....

taken December 2008...

See, it so worst! I wish I could able to get rid of them and bring back my small waistline before, although, I was trying now but it was never been when it was before.

So glad that I stopped drinking soda and trying to lose some more belly fat....

Going on Camping?

Do you love to go camping? If you do then you might want to go camping using an RV. RV is like a mobile home but it looks like a bus or something where you can use on a trip. I have seen a lot of them when we went up north a year ago. I was so curious what it is look like inside and maybe my husband and I can able to buy one when we get older and just enjoy going on a trip and vacations. I thought having your own RV can be a good thing but also it needs a lot of maintenance too. I thought of renting as well but it is really worth it? I have seen a lot of websites online where you can able to rent an RV and some accessories but for my husband, it is way better to have your own RV truck.

Anyway, I have found some accessories and also a honda generator you can buy online. Generator is a good thing to bring when you go camping, since it is absolutely helpful when in needs of electricity during camping.

So, if you need RV or accessories for your RV truck, just drop by at the Camping World website where you can find wide selection of RV accessories for outside and inside of your RV.

Girls Talk: Oh My!

Monday, March 22, 2010

Last week on Girls Talk: Share a picture of the sexiest part of your body.

Well, I don't have a sexiest part of my body, I was always like this very pessimistic when it comes to my body parts but my husband always telling me I am beautiful and stuff and you know I believed most of it sometimes.

Anyway, I am too late to post my Girls Talk entry from last week due to Internet problem that took last week and now I am so glad it came back and now I am on track again, hopefully.

Be Informed, Be Curious, and Be Safe

I remember when I was still in high school at that time, when my aunt used to take these fast weight loss pills in order to lose weight. She worked as an entertainer in Japan and so being slim and sexy is her way to gain more customers and to keep her job. I remember my mom told me about her since in order to keep her body weight; she used to take weight loss pills that are illegal because of its side effects. It costs a lot of money of too and I remember it was called Bangkok pills since it was basically came from Thailand or something. So after a couple of years, she stopped working as an entertainer, stop using the pills, and even got married and start a new life but there’s a problem, her memory isn’t that good anymore. I mean it wasn’t that bad but she told my mom that her memorization was affected.

Now, I am so curious about weight loss pills, so in order to keep you healthy while taking pills, probably it’s a good idea to find out what could be the side effects, reviews and research is a good idea to learn more and be knowledgeable about the weight loss pills you were taken. So, it is important to be informed as well.

A Mad Hatter

Last week on Saturday Six:

1. Which was the first childhood story you remember being told to you by your parents or grandparents? = My mom used to tell stories about me fell on the high chair and collapsed. I thought probably that's where I got my migraine when I was 12 years old. It was a nightmare and I thought I would die but I survived. Thanks to the medicine that I took when I was 12 since it took my migraine away.

2. Which was the first childhood story you remember being read to you by your parents or grandparents? = I always remember when my mom used to tell me stories about how the world I could get out of the baby fence she had for me to prevent me from going out of the apartment. We lived in an apartment and after a minute or two my mom used to find me on the stairs outside. I was still crawling at that time. She still wonder how I did it and I don't even know why. It is just amazes me.

3. Which was the first novel you remember reading for your own pleasure, not for a class assignment? = I think I used to read love stories from a novel. We called it pocketbooks. Oh I was addicted to those...

4. Which was the first novel you remember reading that really pulled you into the story? = I don't remember the story anymore but it was a nice story about love.

5. Take the quiz: Which Alice in Wonderland Character Are You? I am a Mad Hatter.
Here's my result:

You are zany, kooky, and frankly, a little crazy. Others suspect that you're not all there.
Crazy or not, you know how to have a good time. You are passionate about the things and people you love.

You are emotional, over the top, and unpredictable. People can't help but love you, even if they're a little scared of you.
You are impulsive and driven by your gut reactions. You have no problem saying what you think or feeling how you feel.

6. Which childhood story would you most enjoy telling to your kids? = During those childhood times, my sister and I only played toys and that's her barbie doll, she got from her birthday. Then, we have a jack stone, pick up sticks, and puzzles. Sometimes, when we can't have new toys or buy toys that we wanted, my sister and I used to make a paper doll and used paper to make their clothes. My sister was so good at it and she even made different design and type of clothes. Then, we used to buy these paper dolls at the store too, those little paper dolls. I think it was fun story to tell them since being creative is a good idea too to enjoy play time.

Planning to get your degrees online? Well, I do! This time it’s for real. I already made a choice and I wanted to do it. I was planning to take nursing when I came back to school a year ago but this time, I was changing my career into web design and technology. Why? It is just because I have found out that I like technology better than health care and I guess, it is way more updating and easy to do for my part. I find health care so much to do and it is just not my cup of tea. So, now I am looking online for some bachelor degrees maybe or associate degree on web design and technology programs. I have found couple schools online and I thought they might be a good school for this type of course. There’s http://www.bestonlinedegrees.org website also which I have found tons of schools to look forward to. I also consider the tuition fees and application as well. I am thinking of getting it online and so with that, I can able to just stay at home.
Well, now I am just so excited and I can’t wait…

3. What have you given up for him/her (that he/she may or may not know about)? = I think I gave up being with my family and friends just to be with him here in US. I gave up my country just to be with him wherever he went.

4. What was the last thing you two fought about? = I think it was just a misunderstanding and very shallow to share it here, we might be sounds so funny...but it was ridiculous and totally hilarious to be mad at.

MIL looking for one...

A couple of months ago, my mother in law was shopping for best wrinkle serum at the famous beauty store and I thought among those wrinkle serum, I wonder which one are truly, genuinely the best wrinkle cream. I have found some wrinkle cream serum online too and they all claimed to be effective, healthy to use, and safer. So, I guess, this is the best time to use reviews and customer’s experiences in regards of finding out what best wrinkle cream is telling the truth. So, I told my mother in law about it and she was kind of agreeing with some people, you know telling stuff about other wrinkle cream serum. Well, I guess this is the right thing to do especially now that there’s hundreds of wrinkle serum you can buy everywhere. I wish she could find what is better and suitable for her skin.

Spring Time

I was hardly waiting for spring time and it is finally here! March 20th is the official day for spring day to return, and it was also the day where daylight saving time occurred, where we had to move our clock forward and lose another hour of sleep. I was having hard time with it too and I hope I will get used to it as the days went by.

Anyway, here are the three questions for 3x Thursday:

1. What type of ’spring’ time weather do you experience where you live?

= It was kind a cold, freezing sunny weather here in Michigan. The weather is unpredictable and crazy, like the other day we had over 60 to 70F of weather then the next day it was cold and freezing for 35F.

2. Depending on where you live, when does Spring usually occur? How do you know?

= It was usually occur during the month of March and always comes with daylight saving time. I have noticed too that the weather is getting warmer from 30 below Fahrenheit to 50 to 70 F.

3. Do you like spring time, or is it just another season to you? Why/why not?

=Yes, I do. I like it better than summer actually because during Spring time, I can get not so cold and not so hot weather. Perfect to be outside and take a walk.

Any recommendation about Body Fat Burner?

Thursday, March 18, 2010

When my husband got into the national guard, he started getting into the idea of working out. So as of yesterday, he went jogging, brisk walking, and running for about 200 miles. Then, today, he did push ups and sit ups. I thought I need to work out too and burn some belly fat before my skin will lost its elasticity. I was thinking of buying myself a fat burner so my belly fat will get lose right away and then at the same time, do exercise. Since I don't want to lose some fats on my buttocks, on my chest, on my thigh since they're already good enough for me, so I guess, mild exercise will work out for me.

The only problem I had is just my post pregnancy belly fat that takes a while to lose. Well, I have found a wide selection of body fat burner but I don't know which one to get.

If you have any recommendation, it is very much appreciated. I really wanted to get one and get fit and be sexy again. Just leave me a comment below. Thank you.

Daylight Saving Time 2010

Sunday, March 14, 2010

A couple of days ago, my family went to an outdoor mall to take a walk and go shopping as well at BabyGap when suddenly it got cold and windy, I never even thought of putting my hoodie jacket on and when I got home I got sick. Then, I had sore throat and coughing after wards. Then, now I am so tired and I don’t know why. I got headache all of a sudden and so I took a nap. Then, after two hours, I woke up and trying to be back in bed but I can’t sleep anymore. Now I am up at almost 1 am. Sooner daylight saving time will come and we need to change the clock for about an hour ahead. Now, I am losing one hour of sleep. I think it’s still more 2 hours to go before turning the clocks ahead.

During the time change 2010, some people may watch the Pacquaio versus Clottey fight while others might be celebrating St. Patrick's Day during day light savings 2010 or enjoy more of the spring break or either way, daylight savings time 2010 means longer days and more time to enjoy the sunshine during summer time...

Don't forget to turn the clocks ahead for the time change in 2010. If you don't remember daylight savings time 2010, you might wind up late for church in the morning, well, good thing we don't need to go to church tomorrow.

Well, I'll be getting warm up when it comes to daylight saving time change, it takes me days to get used to it again.

Accomplished!

This week on 3x Thursday: Name 3 things you’ve accomplished or are hoping to accomplish this week. Were you successful?

1. I wanted to do my homework for my Psychology class on analysis and I did it last Wednesday and it was due last Thursday. I did it and it was good. I think I was successful to beat by being early this time. I always procrastinate when it comes to doing my homework.

2. I was hoping to go to Chicago next week so I could able to renew my Philippine passport, so I will have it when I need it and in case of emergency of going home to the Philippines. I also plan to get my son a US passport too so we will be ready when we need to travel soon. I didn't accomplish it yet since we still need to get some requirements and I always takes time to do it. Now, I am saying next week again.

3. Well, I was planning to read the rest of the chapter on my Psychology class and do the next assignment in advance but I wasn't so sure. I wanted to enjoy my spring break for the mean time, especially now that my flu is somewhat gone.

Free Filipino Movies and TV Shows

For over years of being here in US, one thing I have been missing is to watch my favorite Filipino shows. One of the TV shows I always wanted to watch is The Buzz of Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino. Then, a drama show entitled MMK (Maalala Mo Kaya) episodes but unfortunately, we don’t subscribe to The Filipino Channel since for me using TFC is not even worth the price. So, I just rather watch it online through TFCNow and pay as much as I wanted to and if I have time to watch it. Then, I just have to renew my subscription if I wanted to watch my favorite shows again after over months of missing to watch them every day.

Then, one day, I talked to a friend who lives in the state as we were and she shared to me a website where you can able to watch free Filipino shows whether GMA or ABS-CBN shows. I was so grateful that she shared it to me. The website is www.pinoy24.tv, I was so happy and now I could able to watch my favorite shows without paying any dollar even though the video is not that clear and high quality as if you subscribed to the TFC Now but who cares, all I need is to watch them for free.

Then, after week or so, my friend in Face book shared about watching free movies online too. So, I asked for the website and she texted it to me. The website is www.pinoymovie.fyi.ph. It was actually the compilation of all the recent movies in the Philippines right now. I am so happy and I can’t even help myself not to watch the Filipino movies every night. I even find myself sleeping late at night just to watch my favorite horror, drama, romance, and action movies online. I really thank those people who have time to upload and share these TV shows and movies for free for all the Filipino people around the world.

Well, if you wanted to visit these websites now and watch your favorite shows, go ahead and they are absolutely free. Enjoy watching!

Don’t forget to join and became a fan of these websites on FB.

Are you looking for a reliable router? If you do then you might want to check out Linksys router. We had been using Linksys router for four years now and so far everything is good. When we bought our first router, we had quite a problem how to connect it with computer then to the laptop, but when we called the Linksys customer service, they helped us a lot as well. It was so quick to install and since then we don’t have any problem with it. So glad we choose Linksys router when we went to the store to buy a router for the first time.

So, if you are looking for one, go with Linksys router, they’re reliable product when it comes to router equipment.

Saturday Six for Feb. 27th

Monday, March 1, 2010

This week on Saturday Six:

Here are this week’s “Saturday Six” questions.

1. Someone posts a question on a website’s message board asking a simple question that could easily be answered with a Google search: does that bother you? Do you tell them to look it up, or would you just provide the answer?
= Yes, I just provide answers even if I need to Google search it or something. I just don't care.

2. A co-worker in the cubicle next to you clips his fingernails regularly. Would this annoy you enough to make you complain? = I don't care either as long as she or he put his cut nails on the garbage can.

3. You’re in line at a checkout counter when the person being waited on is delaying things because they won’t stop talking on her cell phone. Would this bother you? Would you say something about it? = I would say something about it. Time is precious to me and if it not to him/her, then it is time for her to go to the corner of the store and talked to her/his cellphone and it he/she's done then she will go back to the counter and pay his/her stuff.

4. At work, you go to the coffee area and see that the person before you has left a minor spill of coffee and sweetener. Would it bother you enough that you’d clean it up, or just leave it for someone else? = I would just leave it, I don't care but if it's a small mess, I would probably clean it up.

5. A co-worker’s cell phone keeps ringing every few minutes while they’re away from their desk. The ringtone is particularly annoying. If you knew they wouldn’t be back for an hour or more, would you be annoyed enough to turn the cell phone off? = No, not at all. I would never touch it. LOL!

6. Someone you know regularly returns a, “Hello, how are you?” with a simple, “Fine” and no effort to ask how you are. Would this bother you enough to make you stop asking them if you knew they’d never return the courtesy? = I don't care though. Sometimes, if I asked how are you, it was actually just a courtesy and I don't care about the answers. Mostly, I don't want to ask at all.
