Roadside Assistance

Monday, June 28, 2010

One of the fun things to do during summer time is to go on a road trip. I find it very exciting and enjoyable to do. I think road trip is one of the cheapest ways to go for a vacation as well. Though, it always depend on how many miles will your car consume every trip. As for our car, we’re lucky enough to have a car that truly an economical. We used to drive about 1000 miles when we went to my sister in Connecticut, then now we’re looking forward to go for a travel again to Florida for a vacation. I was so excited about it. I am thinking that by traveling this far, we might need to get a roadside assistance club that will protect us when we were on the road and there’s something might happen accidentally or just a broken car. We don’t know what’s ahead so I told my husband that we might need to get a roadside assistance just in case. It is so important that you have somebody else to ask for help when you need it. It makes me feel secure and safe wherever we may go.

Thoughts on Exercising

For being almost 6 years here in the US, I find myself hard to lose weight. I ate enough meals every breakfast, lunch and dinner. I even seldom to have snacks but then still I was having hard time losing my post pregnancy fat especially on the core of my belly. I know that it is the last part of the body that was not easy to get rid of. I have heard from some people who are trying to lose weight that the last part of the body that they were having hard time to lose was the belly fat, especially when you were just had the baby. I know and I am trying to deal with it now.

One of the things I have tried to lose weight is to exercise. Working until all the fats was gone but then it was not persistent. I always have to stop doing it due to the fact that it dehydrated me and it is just give me dizziness for some reason. So, I have to stop and just do it for once in a while. Then, I do dancing workout too. One of the things I like the most was to dance. Dancing workout is what I like to do, it is fun and never gives me a thought that I was trying to lose weight. One of the fun dancing workouts is Zumba Fitness. I am doing Zumba right now and it was indeed very fun. I am losing about 2 to 3 pounds now and still working on it.

Well, I am crossing my finger now and hoping for the better result. Maybe dancing for a year will do the rest for me! I just can’t wait!

Re-Painting Mission

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Last year when we moved into our new house, we got lots of furniture to attend to. Bring the bedroom furniture up stairs, then bring down the table and chairs in the kitchen and then bring some of the coffee table and side tables on the living room. A lot of things we did that we never noticed destroy some of the wall coloring. I told my husband if he could do some painting and get rid of those scratches from moving furniture. Then, a couple of months ago, my son were having a blast having his second set of crayons. So he started coloring the wall instead of his coloring books. I wish we could able to re-paint the wall this summer but we were not so sure yet.

Anyway, I talked to a friend of mine whom now living in California; she was looking forward to do some makeover too. She said they hired a San Diego Painting Contractor where basically they all do the work for you. There are a lot of San Diego Painting Companies out there where she said, they compare the prices before they hired one. The job was good and she thought that I might hire a local contractor as well to do our wall.

Well, she told me that hiring someone to do house painting is easy. You don’t have to worry about making a mess or a mistake. I think if we could only have a reliable and affordable House Painting San Diego contractor here in MI, maybe we will pay the price.

As of now, we will still have to search for one, who knows they might be somewhere out here too!

Summertime: What are your Plans?

This week on Aloha Friday:

aloha banner

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend.

This week question is:

Summer is officially upon us. What fun things do you have planned for the next couple of months?

My answer:

We planned to go to Florida maybe next month for some things we need to do but it was still tentative. I think I have to find a summer job as well while being there. We will just be there during summer then come back here in Michigan. We also plan to go to my friend and visit her. I also plan to have some beach getaway as well.

Maybe, we will go to picnicking too or maybe visit parks and zoo. I don't know yet because we don't really make plans unless we're really looking forward to do it.

Sleeping Routine

On The Friday Five:

1. When is your usual bedtime?
=Well, lately, I've been sleeping so late like 3 to 4 in the morning. I've been not sleeping well when I stop going to school for the summer.

2. How many hours of sleep do you need?
=I need about 8 to 9 hours of sleep approximately. If I lower than that, I still feel dizzy and tired.

3. Do you usually remember your dreams?
=Sometimes but I don't know if I were dreaming at all but if I did, I don't know if I will still remember them or not because I'm just too tired all the time.

4. How many pillows do you sleep with?
=I always have one pillow on my head of course then a pillow on my side and feet.

5. What is the wildest dream you've ever had?
=Well, when I went home to my country Philippines and had a vacation over there. In my dreams, I had a chance to visit my parents. It's awesome! I wish I could able to do anything in my dreams when I was there like go to the places I used to go to or maybe eat my favorite foods...

PD for Eyeglasses

What is PD? PD or pupillary distance is a measurement between the pupils of the eyes, center to center, in millimeters. This result is very important in determining the perfect fit of eyeglasses on the face. This result can be used to order eyeglasses either online or offline. Unless they order the eyeglasses at the optical clinic where they had their eye exam, then there’s no problem. . I think this is very important because how could you be so comfortable wearing eyeglasses when it wasn’t even a good fit.

At some point, a lot of optical clinic had been avoided to get patients which only need a PD so that they can just order their prescription eyeglasses online and enjoy affordable and cheap eyeglasses. So, I think a lot of optical clinic should consider this and not to make the best deal out of it. Not a lot of people have enough money to pay for expensive eyeglasses as we all know.

So, I think it is not fair enough for some optician to not give out their patient’s PD or not do it when people want their PD measured. I think a lot of people are looking for cheaper and yet durable pair of eyeglasses and that’s their right to find what suitable on their budget. Then, it is better to have more choices of eyeglasses than having only one. So, I think cheaper and affordable and yet made with high quality eyeglasses is a must.

A Day At the Beach

Summer time and one of the best thing to be is on the beach! I love beach and sand!

So this week's questions are:

# Is your favorite beach at the lake or ocean?
=Both. I think if you want to be safe, you just rather go to the lake. But if you want to something salty and big, then ocean is the last option. I think I prefer ocean because it is more to be like beach-like than being at the lake.

# Do you wear a life jacket when you go swimming?
=Well, not for swimming if I am riding a ski, or in boat if I'm going to a more deeper part of the water.

# Do you enjoy water sports, such as skiing and boating?
=Yes, I do! I love skiing and boating.

# Do you ever think about the animals that live in the water when you are swimming?
=Yes, I do! I always thought if there's a shark or a jellyfish. I also thought of something like an eel or stingrays.

# Do you like to just lay in the sun or do you want to play in the water as well?
=I always do both unless the water is too cold then I just rather stay under the sun and have some tan.

Future, Jobs, Food.

On The Friday Five:

1. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
=I was probably working either at home or at any business dealing in health care or computer industry.
2. Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
= Probably, I am still working but maybe I am already or nearly to my retirement. I hope so...

3. If you have children (presently or in the future), what are their names / what will you name them?
=I have a son now named Joshua and if God's permit me to have another child again either a boy or a girl, well, can't think of any name of the boy yet but if it's a girl I will name her Hannah Emily.

4. What is something you wish you could be paid to do?
=Maybe traveling to the famous places and maybe I will go it for work.

5. What dish is your favorite to cook?
=Well, I love to cook what my family loves to eat but I do love to eat my Filipino delicacies such as Pancit Bihon, stew, grilled chicken and sauteed veggies.

Air Filter Problem

Thursday, June 24, 2010

A couple of months ago before the warm weather sets in, I have noticed that our car began to make some foul odor smell coming out of our air conditioning. I was seating in front of our car dashboard and turned on the air-con when all of a sudden, this smell of an odor which smells like urine. It was bad so that we have to turn off the air-conditioning and just open the window of our car instead. I asked my husband about it and he thought there might be something wrong with the air filter. Either it needs to be replace or buy a new air intake systems. I don’t know since I was not expert on cars but since then, I knew we have to do something about it.

So, then my husband went to a car shop to do an oil change and at the same time do some maintenance. He asked one of a guy about the problem and they checked on it. It needs a new filter basically and an oil change but then they were not so sure yet, so just in case the smell comes back then we need to check on air filter and air intake system to be replaced. Good thing the foul odor never came back. So, I guess we have to do a monthly maintenance to keep checking the air filter because I don’t want to smell that bad odor again. Its worst odor and very strong and this time we need to consider our health too.

Hungry!!

This week on 3x Thursday:

What are your 3 favorite food dishes that you like to make/eat (this can be anything)? If you don’t cook, what are your 3 favorite dishes that you get elsewhere? Why do you like them so much?

When I was still in the Philippines, I was not used to cook. My mom was the one who always cook for us. Maybe, I cooked eggs, hot dogs, pancakes, or even fried fish but not all the time, only on certain times. My mom loves to cook but before I got married, I don't have any idea what my mom does when she cooked my favorite food until one day, when I was here in US and craving for those delicious meals. So I had to try and do them by myself.

So here are the list of food that I like!

1. Pancit Bihon Guisado or Vermicelli noodles sauteed in meat and mixed of vegetables. This is one of my favorite food and my mom used to cook all the time.

2. Stew or Caldereta - one of my favorite as well but I love it with beef or goat meat.

3. Lastly, desserts. Any kind of Filipino desserts. I really miss eating them when I was still back home. It was just a good memory. I can't wait to go home soon and eat those food again.

Looking for our Future Kitchen Sink

Last weekend, after we went to my mother in law’s house to check on what’s new on her, my husband and I were talking about getting ourselves a new undermount kitchen sink this time. I’ve been looking forward of having a new kitchen sink because as you may all know already from my previous posts that I’ve been wanting to buy a stainless steel kitchen sink and stain resistant sink. We looked at the store for kitchen sinks too and also online. We have found a wide selection of undermount kitchen sinks but of course, it always depend on how much it is. I just can’t wait to get a new kitchen sink soon. I am just so excited about it.

Pinay in States Daybook for June 22nd

This week on Pinay in States Daybook:

For Today on The Simple Woman's Daybook for Pinay In States...

Outside my window...the sun is shining, the warm weather is finally here! Is it officially summer already?

I am thinking...about when to send my gift box for my family in the Philippines. I don't know yet maybe next month.

I am thankful....that even though times are tough we still able to survive and enjoy life to the fullest.

I am wearing...jean short and tee
I am remembering....the summer time I had when I was still in the Philippines...

I am going....to write my tasks this week and I wanted to update my blog as much as I could.

Some plans for the rest of the week...I don't know yet but I was planning to call my parents this weekend if they already received the pictures I sent. Maybe will go grocery shopping too.

I am hoping....that my . will go away soon...I hate it!

On my mind...not so much...

From the learning room....my laptop and me this time. We cleaned a couple of days ago, so no toys are here yet.

Noticing that...our house looks so messy with the gazelle from my sister. She wants me to sell it.

Pondering these words...There's something like a line of gold thread running through a man's words when he talks to his daughter, and gradually over the years it gets to be long enough for you to pick up in your hands and weave into a cloth that feels like love itself. ~John Gregory Brown, Decorations in a Ruined Cemetery, 1994

What does it mean?

I am creating...a new car yesterday. I cleaned it out! I vacuum, I wiped the dashboard and doors. Clean the floors and clean the seats. It seemed like a brand new car again.

I am hearing...my son laughing and giggling. I heard my father in law and my husband talking.

One of my favorite things...being out in the sun this time around...

From my picture journal...

Taken when we enjoyed the first warm weather of summer time during Father's day!

In Law: Bought a New Sink

Last weekend, I went to my mother in law to visit her and to see how is she doing. I am so glad to hear that she was fine and she was just so excited to show her new undermount sinks. She said it was a replacement for her bathroom sink which was messed up by her neighbor who did the job for her a couple of months ago. I think it’s been a year already that this sad thing occurs. The guy made a mistake of putting a liquid in it which left some stain on the sink then screwed up the new faucet she bought too. They were fighting over it at the court now because of what has happened. I wish she could get what she deserves.

Now, good thing she bought a new sink and has ready to be install soon. I think that’s a good idea just to buy a new sink and this time hire a good plumber, or maybe an expert of doing the job to avoid any problem anymore. I think this is the best way for her to not go over with the same situation again.

GT: What's in my Bag?

This week on Girls Talk is Your Bag. Finally the end of the month is almost here!

Actually, this is what I am using this week my new white purse that I bought recently at New York and Company, I love it because this is my third time to have a white purse and I bought it at half price where I saved money again.. woo hoo! Alright, enough with it. :D

Anyway, I am not so good of taking good care of white purses because they are just so hard to take away from stains and spots, but I love them!

So, good thing this is the perfect time to share some of the goodies inside my bag before it's too late or else it would be another purse again.

When it comes to my purses, I always have everything. I always make sure I got everything I wanted and need when I leave the house or else some part of me will be missing.

Here are the things inside my purse:

My wallet, my coupon organizer, my personal planner, my card organizer, pen, bath and body works body lotion, hand moisturizing lotion, cleansing hand gel, Victoria secret lip glosses, lip moisturizer, VS make ups essential - mascara and eye shadow ( if I forgot to put one when I leave the house, so I can do it in the car) and for retouching, my cell phone, my house key, reward cards (for keys) and car keys, feminine napkins just in case, R &L perfumes and Bath and body work cologne just in case if I'm out of the sun the whole day, see, mostly my stuff are from Bath and Body Works. I'm their consistent customer, you know.
Also, a facial napkin, wet wipes, my wallet and a check book.

I think these are all mostly the stuff that can be found inside my bag. I preferred purses with small pockets in them so I can put my small things rather than a vanity bag which sometimes takes a lot of space inside my purse.

New Laptop for Hubby

Thursday, June 17, 2010

When my husband started his first two weeks of being in online class, he eventually spent a lot of time being online, to do his homework and join the class online discussion every now and then. The thing is, since our computer desktop was broken, we only have one computer that we shared to use, my laptop. It was so sad because sometimes he needed to do his homework but I need to do something online too for my work. Now, I am thinking if I could just have the money to buy him a Sony VAIO laptop for Father’s day, I would be so glad to do so. Well, I think I need to save more money so that I could buy him a new laptop. I asked him though if he could buy one, but he was not so sure about it.

Anyway, I insist because it is very important. He needs his own laptop so he can do homework and be online all the time he wants. I wanted to share my laptop with him but sometimes I need to do something too online. My income is what we were talking about here. I hope he understands and I am sure he will.

Those Were the Best Days of My Life...

When summer time came, my husband and I usually go out a lot, spend time with each other, and unlike now seem like it all quite different now. I hate being outside anymore and I just rather stay inside out home and spent time with each other. Since we have a son, I already get tired of being outside all the time. I just bored with it although sometimes I have the willingness to go out for our son so he can just enjoy being out of the house for once in a while. It is just so different here. I am scared to be outside with my son because it was so quite. Not a lot of people, actually no people like to be outside too. I feel so unsafe whenever I am outside. It is just so unusual for me too.

When I was in the Philippines, I always am outside. A lot of people you can see walk pass by our house all the time. I used to walk all the time too especially when I go to downtown and went to the mall. I think this are one of the best summer time I had so far. I would regret why I didn’t do much of my last months when I was still in the Philippines. I missed being in my home country too. Those were the best days of my life being in my country and enjoy everything about it.

My Daybook for June 11th

Outside my window...well, I have no clue what it looks like. I still have the blinds closed from last night.
I am thinking...that I should able to spend time with my son while my husband was doing his homework online.

I am thankful for...another day to enjoy, warm and sunny!

From the kitchen...I could smell the lunch I made a while ago...

I am wearing...shorts and tee shirts.

I am creating...lots of hand addressed envelopes for a friend's wedding invitations--I should be done with those today. I am really enjoying getting to do calligraphy again. It is much less stressful when gifting a friend as opposed to just wanting to get your own invitations done so you can check it off the list.

I am going...to blog for a whole day and thanks to my blogging assignments tasks...

I am reading..a post in regards with Iphone 4 that a lot of people has been talking and wanting. I have read that Apple had been out of it and the IPhone was pre-ordered.

I am hoping...that someday I could have my own Iphone4 but thinking about Droid Incredible!
I am hearing...my husband up stairs banging and running around, I wonder what is he doing...

Around the house...a teddy bear on the floor, a baseball gloves on the floor, I wonder how did it get there. Then, toy cars and a blanket. I know, I have a toddler in the house...
One of my favorite things...is reading and blogging. Sometime, if I am bored I just love to watch my favorite TV shows. Then, sometimes I just listen to my favorite music...or play and spend some quality time with my son.

A few plans for the rest of the week... well, maybe at home...

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

me and my husband at his friend's wedding...

Heavy Traffic

Sunday, June 13, 2010

Last Memorial Day, when we went out for about an hour trip to my sister in law’s house, I have noticed a heavy traffic down to interstate and so we had to do routing and went to other way to prevent the heavy traffic. As usual the traffic was cause by road construction again which already part of Michigan State every year, I would say. Since I came here in US, all I have seen was those big diggers, mobile cranes, trucks with loads of cement, and people wearing green and orange vests in them. It so much traffic because of there’s only one road that was open for hundreds of car passers. It may be annoying for most of us because sometimes it was cause by heavy traffic and it is indeed will take some of your time being on the road for more than what you supposed to be when there’s no traffic and road construction.

So, good thing when we were on the road, we have a GPS to help us find another route. Eventually, the one we took was much closer, though the road wasn’t so nice because of the rain. Our car gets all muddy and dirty but we get to my sister in law’s house less than an hour which is a good thing I guess. Well, I wish the road will be up ready so soon, so the next time will go up there, it will be fast and smooth.

If I could....

On the Friday Five:

1) If you could turn invisible, what would you do with this ability?
=Probably, I will go to airlines and go to the Philippines without fare. I think this is a good idea!

2) If you could fly, how would you do it? Wings? Rocket pack? Purely under your own power, like Superman?
=Well, I wish I could be superman. I hate having wings or even a rocket pack or whatever. It might not be a good idea. I think a super power is good where I could fly without any accessories on.

3) If you could tranform into other people, look however you wanted, how would you choose to look, or who would you turn into?
=I really wanted to be as sexy as Beyonce maybe or Fergie. I just love not to have any belly fats!

4) If you could turn into an animal, which animal would it be?
=I think a dog because being a dog, you can be with people and some dog lovers will treat you as human.

5) If you had superpowers, would you use them to become a vigilante superhero, fighting crime?
=Yes, maybe.

Road Constructions in MI

A couple of months ago, I noticed that some of the roads and highways of Michigan State were under construction. It may be annoying to some people but I figure out that it might be a good thing to do especially when you were in a state where the weather condition is unpredictable. The weather is one of the reasons why roads and highways are getting crappier every year. All of a sudden, the weather will get cold and then hot again. I think this is one of the reasons why Michigan State is famous when it comes to road constructions and yellow barrels.

A few days ago, I saw the big changes on the express way of north I-96, and then all the way to my sister in law, I have seen diggers trucks and cranes. They made huge changes on the road again where they expanded it this time to four roads to prevent heavy traffic and fix those holes in roads which closes highway lanes eventually.

Well, I think we have to get used to it but sometimes it is just so irritating. We can’t deny the fact that sometimes it may cause heavy traffic and unwanted traffic violence. I think we can’t do anything about it because if we stop it then we, people in Michigan, will suffer the consequences of road conditions.

Entertainment

On 3x Thursday:

1. Have you been to any events (sporting, music, other performance) lately? If so, what? Anything in particular that was exceptionally good?

=I have been to a comedy for a cause lately and I think this is absolutely good if you want to help others with advantage. A lot of churches now offered comedy for a cause of raising some help to people who needs some shelter, food, and even clothing. We love to go to this type of events since we always love to laugh. I think this is way exceptionally good. As you may all know, laughter is the best medicine.

2. Seen any good movies lately? If so, what?

=Good movies? Well, I have some good movies that I recently watch such as Dear John but not really, I was so annoyed at the near end of the movie. Let see, Astro Boy, maybe. I don't know, I don't have any that I could consider a good movie. Alice in Wonderland is a good movie, also The Blind Side and The Pursuit of HappYness.

3. Is there anything in the music department that has come out recently that you are in to? If so, what? If not, anything else catching your ear lately?

=Well, I wanted to buy a piece of Charice Pempengco's Album. I have heard about her latest songs which are good. I am so proud of her. Then, also the latest New Moon soundtrack as well. I just noticed some of the New Moon soundtrack when I watched the movie over and over again. I can't wait for the Eclipse soundtrack soon too.

Reaching my Goal

A few weeks ago, I’ve been dancing and doing fitness at home but all of a sudden, I hurt my knee pretty bad and now I need to unwind for a while and just wait until my knee’s get heal. I don’t know what did I do, but now it cramps every time I went up and down the stairs. I told my husband about it and he told me that I just need some proteins to help my bones and muscles to get stronger for working and moving all the time. I think he is right, but I wish there is some diet pills as well that will help me to work out with my extra belly fats too. I really wanted to lose some of this belly fat so bad so I could just wear separate swimming piece this summer, but I know it will never happen unless I will lose these extra fats.

So, I need to work out a lot and maybe drinking protein and taking diet pills will help me reach my goal. What do you think?

Annoyed!

This week on 3x Thursday:

Lots of things annoy us. Pick 3 things that annoy you and tell us why!

1. Road Traffic - Traffic is normal but if people get sick and just get crazy about driving then it is annoying. I hate people when they just don't care and don't know how to drive, really. They just cut someone off and just don't care. Also, those drivers who can't even turn their blinkers on when changing lanes, that's why blinkers are part of the car for you to turn on. I just can't help it, they annoyed me so much! That's why I hate driving!

2. Cranky and mean people - When I worked as a cashier at one of the grocery store here in Michigan. I met different people, different attitude and mostly old people are the meanest and crankiest of all. I don't know why but sometimes I wish that death will take them away because they really annoyed me but of course, it wasn't a good idea to do, but sometimes, I'm only human and I just can't help it.

3. Lastly, my kid. I hate when he whines and get crabby a lot. I just can't help it and I don't know how to deal with it. I wish he could just talk what he wanted to do but he always acted that way especially when his dad is at home. I don't know if he's doing it out of attention or maybe he just wanted to annoy us and its working so bad! Oh, I wish my son could just have a on and off button that I could count on.

I Have a Dream

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

I thought dreaming was just for children but all of a sudden, I have found myself day dreaming all the time. I was dreaming that someday I could able to travel all around the world and meet new people, to see different places, and try different food but of course, without the means of money, I couldn’t able to do all of these things unless I was a millionaire, right? Well, I think I am just satisfied of dreaming and maybe, hopefully someday, my dream will come true. One of the things that I really wanted to do is to visit my family back home in the Philippines. It’s been a long time since the last time I have seen my parents, especially.

Also, aside from going and visiting Philippines, I am looking forward to visit all of the countries in Asia too. Then, maybe in Europe afterward where I could enjoy all the beaches, caravan park outdoor fun, and some exotic foods as well. Then, I could able to travel again back to USA. I really wanted to visit all the states too like in California, Florida, Utah, and even New York! I wish I could able to do it someday. It would be dreams come true! I wonder if how much it will cost to travel all over the country. What do you think?

Filipino Picnic Party here in Michigan

Last weekend, we went to a Kalayaan (Independence) Picnic Party at Halmich Park here in Michigan. It was fun, it was my first time actually to visit and see some of my friends whom I met a couple of years ago. We had fun, there’s a lot of food, Filipino food especially. There are about thousand of Filipino people over there together with their multiracial husbands. I never thought it could be these many people and Filipino living here in Michigan and I bet there would still more because these are only the area of one county. I had so much fun because they also have programs where they dance Filipino dance, pageants, games, and a lot more. I had fun speaking with people who happened to have the same language I spoke and it was really one of a kind. It always happened every year and I can’t wait to come back again next year hopefully.

Next week, there will be another picnic party and I am so sad that I couldn’t able to go because my husband will be working and I had to watch our son at home. I don’t want to be alone at the party especially if I have an active boy around, it might not be so fun. Oh well, maybe next time.

On this economy, a lot of people lost their jobs and some are having difficulties of finding new ones. My husband has been one of these people but so glad that a year later, he found a job. I am so glad about it since having a son and paying our house are quite a bills that need to pay and to prioritize, therefore, when it comes to finding a job, my husband are just come what may. He will work a second job, or even third job.

One time, I make a joke about it, what about being a fork lifter? He was just some agree with it. God thing I have found some warehouse forklift job online and I showed it to him. I don’t know if he is going to do it because he has two jobs right now and just last Monday his online classes just started. So, I don’t think that he will get a third job this time.

In case, he might need a third job, he can always visit at this website where he could find jobs as fork lifters. He can upload and submit his resume at any time. Good thing about this website is that he can find jobs at nearby cities which are quite convenient for those who wanted to find a job near of where they lived. It is just a good thing to know especially when you want to save money on gas.

Pinay in State's Daybook for june 8th

This week on Pinay in States' Daybook for Tuesday, the 8th of June.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... the sun is up, the warm weather is finally here. Although, living by the lake was nice, but sometimes fish flies are so irritating and gross. They are stuck at our window outside.
I am thinking... of what to do today while hubby was working on his homework.

I am thankful for... another brand new day to spend it with my family...

From the learning rooms... me and my son was busy coloring his coloring book and write some letters, shapes, and numbers on the easel board.
From the kitchen... I could smell the steaming crabs and grilled steak right out of the grill...

I am wearing... short and t-shirt.
I am creating... a new living room and kitchen floors by mopping, cleaning and vacuuming the dirts...

I am going... to clean the house!

I am reading... a magazine that I received in the mail today for free. It's called Prevention.

I am hoping... that someday my belly fat will go away by working out and dancing...

I am hearing... my son was getting so into his dad and keep on disturbing him from the learning room.

Around the house... toys everywhere as usual!

One of my favorite things... eating and cooking good food for my family and blogging...
A few plans for the rest of the week: go to a friend's wedding, cleaning the house, and watching my son while hubby was going his homework...

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

My husband together with our son!

Wedding Favors

This coming Saturday we are going to attend a wedding of my husband’s friend whom he met a couple of years ago when he was in college. I was so excited about it since this is going to be a wedding were there are no family and relatives around. I was wondering if what are their wedding favors this time. The previous weddings that I have attended to last time, they were just giving away chocolate truffles and dove chocolates because my husband’s family was really chocolate lovers’ people. So, this time, I was wondering what would be their wedding favors. I am just so excited and it will be so soon.

First of all, I am so glad that Girls Talk meme is not going to be over. Thanks to Mommy Niko for changing your mind and to keep Girl Talk alive. Don't be worry I will help you if you need some help and maybe all the girls too.

Anyway, this week I'm going to share what's on my shower loot. Well, I took a picture of it and my husband saw me. He was wondering why I took a picture of the shower caddy and I said that I am going to post about it. He replied, "That's interesting." Oh well...sometimes, things can be crazy but as girls we loved it! :D

Here's mine:

The shower loot includes the Bath and Body Works body wash, Summer's Eve feminine wash, Selsun Blue shampoo, Foot wash, Biore Facial wash, Head and Shoulder's 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner, my body scrub, and Honey Tree conditioner. There are a lot of things in our shower caddy but some are for my boys.

Getting a New Bedroom Sheets

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Last couple of days ago, it has been warm and hot all day and night, so we have to turn up the air conditioning to cool us up and the house. It was tough being in the house where it’s so warm and hot during summer days. Then, the last couple of days ago, I was changing our bedroom sheets when I noticed that we only have few bed sheets that are for summer. I was thinking of buying a new Bedroom Sets again for summer, maybe one or two set of bedroom sheets. Some of our bed sheet actually was just for colder weather because they were made of flannel and silk satin materials which it is so hard for our body to breathe out the warm air. This is what happened living in a country where four season of weather are prevalent.

Now, I have to find a comforter as well that would match the summer weather where it won’t be hot during the night even the air condition is on. A comforter that maybe not so thick compare to a thick comforter and then cotton bed sheet maybe is better because cotton is a good material when it comes to maintaining the body heat. I am so excited about it though. Looking for a new bedroom sheets is quite fun and I can’t wait to shop some soon.

For Today on The Simple Woman's Daybook for Pinay In States...

Outside my window...the sun is shining, the warm weather is finally here!

I am thinking...about sending a package to my family back home in the Philippines next month, hopefully.
I am thankful....after hearing my parents are doing good and that they're still doing their best to cope up things that comes in their way.
I am wearing...short and tee because it is so warm up here!

I am remembering....funny video that I have seen a couple of weeks ago. I think it was last Mother's day.

I am going....spend time with my son for quite a long time after I blog.

Some plans for the rest of the week...I don't know yet but I guess we will be cleaning the house because my father in law will come for a visit from Florida and he is going to stay with us.
I am currently reading... Nothing so far. I was just done reading The Diary of Anne Frank.

I am hoping....that my son will not a be a picky eater someday...

On my mind...not a lot, but I was thinking of what to do after I blog and after I played with my son.
From the learning room....coloring books and crayons are every where!

Noticing that...our house is messy again after two weeks ago that I vacuumed, clean, and pick up stuff off the floor.

Pondering these words...“Let no neglect, no ravages of time, testify to the present or to the coming generations that we have forgotten as a people the cost of a free and undivided republic.”
- General Orders No.11, Grand Army of the Republic Headquarters, May 5, 1868

I am creating...a new meme for my blog a Couple's Love Book called the Movie Lovers meme.

I am hearing...my son and husband at the kitchen, eating while talking...
From the kitchen...dirty plates and pans, left over food, and some stuff.
Around the house... toys every where as usual!

One of my favorite things...my cell phone new ring tones, my laptop, my new purse!

From my picture journal...
Taken when we enjoyed the first warm weather of summer time!
