It was last September of last year when I submitted my application for naturalization, then after a couple of weeks, it was November 2012 when I received an appointment for my biometrics. Then, after two months of waiting which I thought that the holiday season might have something to do with the reason why it takes a while for me to get my interview appointment but still grateful that I received a letter again from USCIS for my interview and oral examination on January 29 of this year, I had my citizenship interview and with god’s grace, I passed it and eventually was given an opportunity to be a US citizen.
After the interview, the interviewer told me to wait and hand delivered to me a paper for my oath taking ceremony appointment at the courthouse located in Detroit, MI. Finally the waiting is over. I finally had my citizenship oath taking and received my certificate for confirmation. The oath taking went smooth and fast. I’m actually the only Filipino who was there. I was really surprised! Yet, still thankful that now I could able to enjoy being one of the foreigner who long to be a US Citizen.
Now, I can’t wait to apply for a US passport soon.
